it will probably be a good motor, but with all the smog controls, there will be a decrease in fuel economy. I just purchased a early '07 Dodge Diesel (built October '06 with the 5.9 engine) to avoid the fancy emissions.

Most people think diesel engines on the whole are polluters of the first degree but upon further investigation you will find that they are not. Gasoline engines are by far the worst. Diesels emmisions are much larger particals which are heavy and basically fall to the ground. As far as the Dodge diesels which are made by Cummins, it is a 24 valve engine which gets probobley better mileage then the other diesels and which burns cleaner.Plus the engine is rated a stronger engine then most.

which one?, are you talking about the Cummins in the trucks or the Dodge ones in the vans,and jeeps,
