it sounds like the rear sunroof drains are plugged of have fallen off of the sunroof. causing the water to be able to just run inside the car. check your rear floors and see if they are wet, also look inside the spare tire hole and see if is wet.

Not familiar with your car but your trouble seems to be a water leak in either the trunk or rear window.or hatch.Check that leaves or sure have plugged the drains for the rear area. Lift the spare tire cover up and inspect the well for water (no pun intented)if water there it will be fun to find the leak. If your good with cars strip the int. out for the back of the car get the sprinkler close the car up and let the sprinkle go for 1/2 hour. Now go inside and look for water tracks. Its not a fun job. Quick fix take a punch a put a small hole in the bottom of the well.

GTI=gasoline Anything with a "D" designation is a Diesel (Yes, they came non turboed as well.) I stands for Injection (there is no such thing as a carburated diesel - they have always been Injected) So you can see there is redundancy here Difference between a GT TDI and a stock TDI? Pin striping and upholstery and different wheels. That is it. Maybe a useless spoiler package which looks ridiculous on a diesel. If you live where it snows, make sure they have a standard block heater where you plug it in during the cold weather. Not a dip stick heater or a battery blanket or that kind of junk. Ask someone mechanically minded to take a look if you do not know what you are looking for. Also, learn how to drive manual transmission.(It is not hard and it is the easiest car to learn on) V W makes a crumby automatic.

Well the easiest thing you could do is track back to where the seat belt coils. This shouldn't be too hard to find, you probably have to tear some of your interior apart. Anyways I had a problem of not being able to find a water leak for wet back seats and found a hole in the wheel well that would throw water "up" into the car.

Hey. I have a MK4 golf and mine always gets condensation. Its terrible. More than 2 ppl in the car and the windows steam up. Recently changed the door speakers in the car and found water in the door panels. Maybe a big design issue! Who knows?
