Newer Ford use a latch door switch to turn the dome light on.It located in the door. To get to it you need to remove the door panel and feel for the electrical. connection near the door latch. Most times you have to buy the whole latch assemble .If your not good with car do not do this yourself as alignment of this part can be tough. Good luck hope I helped.

There has to be a little switch there somewhere. Looks like a little button. It's in the "in" position when the door is closed and should pop out with the door open. It may be easier to find it on the passenger side. Should be at the front of the door on the post. Probably only need to spray a little wd40 on it to get it to pop out.

I had this happen on a '98 f150. The switch is inside the door. I had a shop do it so I wouldn't break any of the plastic parts involved in taking the door panel off! It wasn't a big bill but labor was more than the switch cost.

it is called a door jamb switch. it should be located on the front part of the frame when the door is opened by the front quarter panel inside of the cab. you can pick one up at your local Auto Zone.
