Rangers are very reliable and powerful little truck, I have a ranger and I have not had any problems with it. The guy i bought the truck on, had a friend that bought a ranger with him, he "killed" it with 450 000km, all it needed was a water pump. I work in a garage, and I see a lot of GM trucks in the shop, In my opinion, i would never drive a gm truck, they are junk, they don't last long and they are expencive to fix and they will need fixing. I have seen very few Rangers at the sho, the only ones that actually needed a repairing was for an alternator, and that one was done at 270 000km, and there was one that spun out on ice and bent something in the front end, that was about a year ago and i can't remember. They are a god truck and i would highly recomend it. you won't be disapointed in it. go to www.therangerstation.com for more people who have these trucks and live by them.

This is from a mechanics and upkeep point of view...The G.M small trucks are by FAR more expensive and time intensive to repair .As a long time full size G.M./ Chevy truck owner, I still bought my son a ranger, and if I were to buy a small/midsize p'up, it would be a Ranger, hands down.P.S., Mazdas are the exact same truck, different emblems, down to part numbers at auto parts stores...

No way. Wait for a Ranger, they're just as plentiful and a lot more reliable.
