Can this happen because of something wrong with the car, or did the transmission fluid get poured in the oil?

I purchased a car yesterday knowing that the odometer stopped working 3 years back. I have an estimate of the mileage from the seller. I checked the carfax report and nothing reported about the odometer problem(not taken to the notice of the DMV I guess!)
My question is, should I be straight and say the problem with the odometer during the registration(in the documents) or say that the mileage it is showing now is the actual mileage?
Are they going to check the odometer during the inspection?
Thanks!

I purchased a car yesterday. Its in good condition. I dont have a license but have a learners permit. I didnt know until today morning that I can register the vehicle or atleast get a tmpeorary tag using that. Now that the car doesnt have a tag or a license plate, it is vunerable. I tried to buy the insurance using the VIN number on the title(which is the only thing I got yesterday after giving money to the seller) and discovered that there is a typo in the VIN. One number is missing (it has only 16 digits, suppose to have 17). I checked the number I wrote down to get the carfax report (I got the number from seller on phone) and one '5' is missing. I purchased the insurance and now would like to know what needs to be done. The vehicle is also not inspected. So I researched a little bit and found that I need to apply for a 30-day temporary registration waiver. I would like to know if the title I have will be valid if I try to use that tomorrow. what should I do.

93 Ford Festiva, old and beat up automatic 2 door. It is my daughters car. It will not start. The oil was clean and good. The radiator hose was detached from the top of the radiatior. Radiator was bone dry, and the overflow has greasy gunk in the bottom but no coolant. I think my daughter overheated her car and blew her engine, but the mechanic says he thinks it is a broken transmission belt. Given the circumstances, does that make sense? And would a broken transmission belt prevent the car from starting?

in my tahoe 2007, there was an option to relearn tire position. But i can't find it in menu now somehow. Also i got tire rotaion and tire pressure of 35. but system says it has 29 etc in and its not changing.

Why would i have lost relearn tire position option?
How can i reset tire pressure or relearn?

It's not cat converter. Autozone has told me numerous times that it is an o2 sensor. I took it to a garage (that doesn't do exhaust work), and they said it's cat or o2.

The car will stall going up a hill, rarely it stalls other than that. It idles high, and its really loud before switching gears.

I get about 250-300 miles per tank. 2000 Ford Focus 141k miles (mostly highway).

they always said 5 months or 5000 miles every oil change, what if you only drive 2000 miles in 5 months, should I still change it.

I have a jetta right now and its great but their is only so much room and I want something that would be easier to get her in and out of in the back and gets good gas mileage. A mini van would be to big and we just do not need that room. I am ok with any kind of station wagon though. And as far as price I am willing to spend I would say no more then 10K. Thanks!

Yes, I am stupid. I was in a rush and the oil light came on. I immediately pulled over and put about 1litre or just under 1/4 gallon of water in my oil. I have driven about 200km since and have realised it was the oil lamp, not the water lamp that came on. Please help!

I have a 1997 350 vortec and my truck will barely start. iv ruled out the battery, alternator, fuel filter, and i am pretty sure its not the fuel pump because it doesnt cut out. it started like 2 months ago when it wasnt cold. its cold now and it still does it. i have no idea what it could be. i hooked up a code reader and it said nothing except for trans component slipping and that cant be the problem. any help will be appreciated
thanks

On hot days, when I try to fill my car's LPG tank, none will go in. Is there a way of overcoming this problem (other than simply waiting until it is cooler)?

I assume the reason this happens is that the gas already in the tank, being hotter than usual, exerts a higher pressure against the gas in the pump. Is that correct?

I just can't figure out why so many people are focused on cigarette smoke while they motor around pumping toxins into the air.
Is second hand smoke a moot issue in the big picture of health issues?
Just wondering, thanks.

I'm looking at a 1960 Oldsmoblie 88 that is for sale on the net. No pictures of the engine, but it is claimed to be a 394. From what i can find on the net (which is very little), the only 88 that got the 394 is the Super 88. From the pic on the net, i managed to make out a Dynamic 88 badge on the rear fender. So, my final question is, Did the Dynamic 88 get equipped with the 394, or just the 371? I'm trying to get an engine pic, i know that the 394 was green, and the 371 gold, but that's all i've got. Thanks for any help!

So i was pulling out of my driveway and everything went fine. I drove about a 100 feet distance and suddenly I heard a loud "thump". The sound sounded like it came from the back right side of my car. It sounded kind of like a snap, or a scrape. And so i break and put my car into park. The engine and everything else about the car sounds the same but when i put my car into drive or reverse, nothing happens. I get no movement or anything. There is still the sound of the engine when I step on the gas however. Does anybody know what might have happened, or the costs to fix it. Thanks in adance.

Our car was parked outside of our house and a lady hit the front of it. The whole driver's side is completely smashed into the tire and it is not driveable. We have all of her information and filed a police report. Her insurance is not open tonight. So, we called our insurance and they said we would have to pay out of pocket for a rental car.
Shouldn't her insurance be the one to pay for a rental car? We have absolutely no money to pay for one even if it is reimbursed. Our insurance also told us that we have car rental insurance but it is still $25 a day and we also have loss of use insurance.
We are calling the other lady's insurance tomorrow but I am so stressed that they won't pay.
What do we do?
