It's not cat converter. Autozone has told me numerous times that it is an o2 sensor. I took it to a garage (that doesn't do exhaust work), and they said it's cat or o2.

The car will stall going up a hill, rarely it stalls other than that. It idles high, and its really loud before switching gears.

I get about 250-300 miles per tank. 2000 Ford Focus 141k miles (mostly highway).

Yes the Ford dealership will do a diagnostic test to determine your problem. Dealserships have the most up to date tools and equipment. They can tell you which O2 sensor you need to replace.

Hope this helps!!

Well they were all Kinda Right. Catalytic Converter is Causing Excess "Back Pressure" Messing up the o2 Sensor(s), By now The Mass & Throttle Position Sensors too also causing RPMs to be to high. Replace Cat. Con., o2 & Mass Sensors! Have RPMs Reset. Replace Fuel Filter.

AutoZone is a parts store and by nature if they check your codes and find it saying "O2 reading" then they want to sell you that sensor. There are really a number of things that can cause that kind of code such as rich or lean exauste. A plugged cat will rob you of power, not raise your idle, so I'm not sure if that is really the problem. The dealerships or even most shops have scan tools that can help find the cause.

you can go to any advance auto parts store and they will run computer scan for you free...if they told you o2 sensor, then you need to replace it...although ou car might have two, one in the manifold, other after cat . convertor.....then again you could have a stopped up convertor...i think you need to have a professional check it out...

Take it to a muffler shop. They will tell you if you need a cat. And no charge. This will eliminate that if it INS`t and at no cost to you. If it is the cat. then you are in the right place.
