I was recently told that to make a hybrid, they mine the Nickel in Canada, ship to Japan to make the car, then ship the car to the US so someone can buy it. Then (and this is what really raises a questions for me), the car will only last 100,000 miles. I drive a gas guzzling Jeep, but I ONLY DRIVE 3000 MIES A YEAR, meaning in actual gallons, I burn far less than the average tree hugger who keys my car because I happen to have a "Six Less Bicycles" bumper sticker... but I digress.

Given the facts, aren't I loving mother earth by driving my Jeep into the ground at 3000 miles/year, as opposed to driving a disposable Prius, which looks green but doesn't sound like it really is. Plus my car is 'Merican, but that's just a side benefit.

I'm looking for a new car insurance company. Of course I want something that is inexpensive but I am not worried about that. I want something that will help me the best in case I get into a car accident. (Meaning not calling back and forth to get the help and answers I need, direct forward responses, etc.) Would anyone happen to have a website that gives reviews on car insurance? Please don't respond with just a company, tell me who and why. Thank you.

I got into an accident and it's determined it's 100% the other party's fault. The other party is insured. My car is a total loss. My insurance company (Allstate) offered me a below market price value for me car. They offered $6500 but my car is currently selling around $7500 in the market according to my research. I have countered their offer, faxed over all my research result, can contacted the adjuster's manager. They are still very firm about what they can offer. They said they will not add a penny to the offer.

I don’t understand… this accident is entirely NOT my fault. My insurance company does not have to pay anything for my loss. All cost goes to the other party’s insurance company. Why would my insurance offer me a below market price and force me to take a loss????

I have also filed a claim to California State Insurance Department, don’t know how much they can help me on the case.

Any body has any idea what I should do at this point???

Stupid question but do you need to put your turn signal on when yeilding and I can you wear flip flops (I know its winter but I learned how to drive in the summer and now its hard for me to drive in my tennis shoe). Any tips? Thanks

I pulled the interior light bulb above my head in my 2000 dodge neon. My car battery keeps dying though. The light stayed on because the back passenger door wouldnt shut completely and the light stayed on. I pulled it and the battery keeps dying. It can get jumped and run all day. Once the car doesnt get started for a certain amount of time it would need a jump. I was thinkin , alternator, possibly a new battery of course

Recently, not quite a month ago i bought an '01 Dodge Dakota with the 3.9L V6. Right now it has about 74,000 miles on it. I want to extend the life of this engine as far as possible, so switching to synthetic is something i have been looking into.

I have not reached the time for an oil change yet, so i can't say what was used previously (dino or syn). I've read that switching from dino to sythetic can cause oil seals to leak and/or make the truck use oil. What can you confirm on this?

If switching is my best bet, what do you recommend as far as brand and grade?

you know how dealers are they always offer less than your car's worth so im selling it so i can get a new hybrid car....my pt cruiser is worth around16 thous and i know buyers cant always get cash so what other safe method can you use to get the money to pay off the remaining loan on the car?

I want the sport truck look. I dont want it to look like a 4x4. The tire place said the only thing is to lift it 3 in front 1 in back. (not diesel) engine to run on METHANOL...?

This is for a fictional situation with people away from civilization, etc. but I want to include legitimate detail. They don't have a machine shop, but I'm looking for ideas on tuning, etc. What kind of mixture would it take?

It doesn't have to run well. In fact, the rear axle is gone, so don't worry about mileage. All they need is a way to run the alternator to recharge the vehicle batteries periodically, so they can recharge flashlights, radios, etc., whose batteries have ALSO gone dead.

There was little damage that is visible to my truck, his car was totaled, (they had to cut the hood off to stop the leaking and remove the battery.)
