I realize that this this question has been asked already, but I didn't understand any of the responses so I'll try writing my own question.

The gas pump 'pops' as if my car is full repeatedly. I can only have about .50 worth of gas pumped at one time. It takes half an hour to fill the tank. This wasn't too big of a problem when it started in the spring, but now that it's getting colder the gas station guys refuse to stand there and keep resetting the pump, so no gas for me :-(

I stood next to the pump/car the other day and noticed that it makes what I do not believe to be a normal sound when gas is pumping in... a loud, cavernous, echoey sound.

The car is a 2005 Ford Escape with 50k miles. This started happening about 10 - 15k miles ago, minimally at first and got progressively worse.

If so, what was the outcome? Did you recieve a large settlement? Are you allowed to talk about it? I won't tell anyone, I promise.

I was driving through a parking lot today trying to find a spot. Well, this car starts to pull out in front of me so I hit my breaks. The parking lines are slanted though so she was headed right for me. There wasn't enough time to back up so I layed down on my horn. She was really mad...I thought I had the right of way but now I'm not sure because she was so mad. She was within inches of hitting my car! Would it have been my fault or hers for not checking her mirrors?

97 dodge avenger 2.5L V6 front wheel drive 4speed auto.

For a little while now i felt a really light jerk type feeling in the engine during light accleration, shruged it off for needing tune-up and plan to take care of it on my next day off. Well today my speedometer droped about 40 MPH then right back to normal. Then a little bit later in the day it's doing the same but also at the same time as that problem the car will jerk like it's trying to stop itself. I then hit a hill where i had to lightly accelrate to keep speed and the jerking i shurged off started again but pretty heavy this time along with the speedometer droping. And then ontop of that the radio kept shutting itself on and off. I have no clue what's going on anymore and if these are related anyone please give me a little advice i'd be very thankful.

hi, i feel so bad and scared now lol, i was at red light today, and i was playing wid my phone, and i hit the car in front of me, so im pretty sure it was my fault. when we got out, NOTHING happened to my car or his car, cuz well, my car wasnt moving fast, i just took my foot off brake for a sec. so we pulled off the road, and the guy said he wont call the cops because then my insurance would go up, and he had kids my age lol, so he just got my insurance number and policy and those stuff, and gave me his but i didnt write down his, i just got his phone number. and he was like he just copied those just in case if anything happened to his car. so i wanted to see is there anything he could do? or cheat? because there was no witness or cops , and we didnt tell anyone, he just got my number. plz tell me wut i should do or wut he can do? im nervous, thanks

I remember clearly that snow would built up against my car, I would get out and shovel, then it would build up again, I would get out and shovel, and eventually I made it home frozen.

I also remember that the underneath of a car I had wore through and exhaust started getting through. I guess lots of salt water had easily splashed up.

I don't need a car that is as high in the air as a truck. But are there nice cars that are higher than average?

We have a 2000 nissan sentra, automatic transmission. We are getting a tow dolly as that was the option recommended to us since we have a front-wheel drive vehicle. My husband will be driving. It's a 16 foot truck. Suggestions? Tips? We were going to get a ten foot truck and I was going to follow him to PA, but the car hasn't been inspected in PA yet, doesn't have a sticker, but has a valid PA registration and plates. With some car trouble, close to 100K miles, we decided to tow the car on a dolly. (The car also needs repairs, and we didn't want to chance a car problem as well.)
Any advice and safety tips would be truly appreciated! This is a new thing for both of us, and we are nervous! We can't afford a mishap!

The alternator on my truck is going out and a new one is $120.00 with the trade in. Although a used one from the junk yard is $45.00

Would you put a used alternator on your truck? It's a 98 Ford Ranger XLT V-6 3.0

I don't want to get ripped off or buy a lemon, so I might be working on buying a car for months.

Here are my preferences:
1. A stick shift vehicle (because for example it might have an extra gear at a lower cost).
2. Roll down windows (because they tend to work well for a long time and are less expensive to repair).
3. A car high in the air (because it would have an easier time getting through snow and would be better preserved underneath when less water splashes on it).
4. A car that costs less than about $20,000 (because I think that that is enough to pay to get a good car and I am not looking for luxury).
5. A car that is inexpensive to maintain (because I don't want huge repair bills after spending so much for a car).
6. A car that gives pretty good gasoline mileage (must be either a four cylinder or a six cylinder).
7. A four door car (because they cost about the same and strike me as much more pleasant).
8. An option of four wheel drive (to combine with being a little elevated to get through snow.

I don't intend ever to sell this car.

Please help and let me know if I have given too much or too little info!
