does anyone know how to re-set a J.V.C. car stereo. I took it out of one car to put into another and it will not turn on now. I know you can re-set them but that page in my manual is ripped out.

I got a fuzz buster and i really want to use it, but this whole truck is broke down. I cannot find a site that will give me instructions to mess around with this thing. I need to know how to fix the lighter piece, that does not work, so i can plug in the fuzz buster, because there is no power from that outlet. I tried getting a new lighter but thats not the case. The AC does not work, the Horn does not work, or the Top Light. Could anyone give me a site to research on? Or give me some instructions?

A mechanic told me I needed to replace my front axle wheel bearing soon. It's a Dodge Neon 2002. He said I don't need to worry it about for a month or two and it'll cost a few hundred dollars. I am not trusting this guy because I've been doing some research online. No one is open over the weekend so I thought I'd post it hear. It's making noise (not too loud) and I can feel it a little.

1. How long can I wait? It doesn't seem right I can wait a month or two but I'm also trying to figure it into my budget. (I mostly only drive under 35 around town)

2. How much will it cost (ballpark)? I've been looking around and a lot of people say it's a fairly easy job and the part is 20 bucks so "a few hundred" just doesn't sound right. I'm just trying to see if I can trust this guy.

Hello. My husband continues to feel like he's a good enough driver to text while driving, sometimes talks on the phone, drives and texts, sometimes reads, sometimes talks on the phone while eating and drinking things which require opening and closing! We live in a high congestion city and he spends a lot of time in the car and also takes long road trips often. He feels that he is a good driver and that he can do all those things safely and my asking him not to is a nagging thing. We've often had to jam on breaks or swerve to miss hitting others because he wasn't paying attention, and swerved to catch exits almost missed as well. It doesn't make sense to me to risk his life, my life, the lives of others or our children someday just to make a call or have a chat. I'd LOVE links to articles, published studies, anything by 'experts' that attests to the extreme danger of multi-tasking while driving. I feel he'd listen more to that than to the 'nagging' wife. thanks for your help.

there are 2 lower bolts that I removed but this does not seem to loosen it. I was wondering if the brake pads can be replaced without removing the caliper.

I was involved in a car accident in which I was at fault. It was a low speed, less than 10mph. Thing here is that the other driver swerved in front of me and slammed on his brakes. He had insurance, but was not registered. Not being registered in my state is grounds for a driver's license suspension. The driver is being represented by an attorney claiming body injury. If this goes to court, can I countersue because he was driving illegaly?

I have a Chevy blazer with about 195,000 miles on it. I drive it about once or twice a week, and then back home from college (couple hundred miles round trip) every few weeks. About a month ago I had trouble starting it. I turned the key, seemed to have full battery as the starter motor kept going, but the motor never caught and turned over. I tried again and it worked fine.

Today I tried starting it up again and had no luck. Like the last time it seems like the battery is fine. The starter just keeps chuggin away but doesn't make the engine turn over. My question is, would this be my starter going bad or would it be my alternator going bad?

I don't think I've replaced the starter or alternator since I've had it (since about 150,000 miles). And both times the weather beens farely cold.

My "friends" are being jerks about teaching me about how to ride a dirtbike with a clutch. So they are going around on my friends dirtbike, while I sit inside and do nothing. They said that I can't ride it because i don't know how, and when I ask them to teach me how to ride it, they say "what would your mom say?" But she wouldn't care, and I am actually a very good driver and I am talented at things like that. Will someone please tell me how to ride a clutch?

I have a CX500E, the other day I came from work and stopped at the shop, turned the bike off. I came back, turned the ignition on...nothing, there was no oil light, no neutral, no indicators, and the electronic ignition didn't start either, had to push it home, I have checked the fuses, the ignition switch and they are working and the battery is good...it has me stumped so I'm looking for any suggestions....thank you

There is a screw that is recessed in a hole in the molding just behind my left tail light. I have tried every common socket known to mankind and cannot lock on to it. Did GM make a custom socket to access this fastener? The closest I come is using an extended thinwall socket, but that still binds on the wall of the plastic recess. Did GM turn down the OD of a standard socket to gain access? Tons of companies do this just to sell "special tools" in the OEM business. If you know the answer, please respond. Thanks to all in advance...Tom

I was recently told that I have a blown head gasket. I have to keep putting anifreeze and water in the car almost every other day to keep it from running hot. As long as I do this then the car runs smoothly and my engine light stays off. I have been doing this for about 1 week now....I'm wondering how long can my car run until I can get it fixed and approximately how much would it cost to fix it? Thanks!!

I just installed a ss prop on my Merc 70 hp. Now when I shift into gear, either forward or reverse It makes a bad rumbling noise at idle speed around 700 rpm. When I speed up to around 1200 rpm it stops and everything is great. Shifts fine. New thrust washer installed.
Checked gear lube and no metal. Didn't do this with aluminum prop. I know the ss is much heavier. Could the extra weight be the problem?

The I.D. plate on my truck gives the "engine code" as J, which is the 223 c.i. Also on the I.D. plate is 114hp @ 3600 rpm. The original Ford shop book says the 223 engine is rated 135hp @ 4000rpm. Why don't the numbers match? Which engine is actually in my truck? Thank you, Steve
