like the one guy said, anything is possible if you have the money...but why would you want to do an engine swap when the new GTR is engineered VERY well...i also have heard the VR38 is capable of handling 600hp, but is detuned for production...also, you do realize the new GTR is quite a beefy vehicle at a little over 3800 lbs...i think the VR38 is well-suited for the vehicle, and you KNOW that Nismo, Mine's, and all the other tuners are probably gonna get their hands on it as well...Edmunds says Nissan has confirmed a V-Spec model as well

First off you have to come up with north of $80 grand then you want to take a fantastic super car and replace the high technology engine with a 20 year old in line 6? Pulling more power comes at a very high price. New GTR with out warranty would scare me... But I modify everything I own. The new VR38DETT will be a Bugger to modify unless the tuners in japan get a hold of it and start working soon! And did you realise that there is only 1,600 comming to the USA in/as 2009's? Exclusive and very high priced is what Nissan Want's... Order your's soon

Do you realize the the new GTR already makes 473HP. That means its about 200HP increase over the RB26. Not to mention that the motor is new and you will be paying 80,000 dollars to buy a car and remove the engine. Amd throwin a lesser(yes lesser) engine with the hope of it making more power. And for what if the rB26 was a better motor nissan would have kept it they put a lot of time and effort into developing the car.

Yes it may be possible but it owuld be retarded to do a swap

rb26dett is known to handle over 700 + hp without any internal modifications to the engine, and well over 1000+ hp with internal modifications. never worked with a vr38dett. why would you want to do an engine swap to the new gtr? are you talking about the new gtr proto? and anything is possible as long as you have the money. good luck and happy life. dont die racing. not worth it

The RB26DETT
will be more tunable but the NEW GTR runs a VR motor

and it will be very tunable by just adding a signal Turbo.
it will put out about 700hp.
