my car makes a loud metalic screeching sound on start up ,which stops after driving on a few yards,ihave checked alternator belt tension,which is ok,was told it could be adry water pump bearing.

This battery came with the car and is 20 months old. The car has 25,000 miles on it (I drive to L.A. a lot). I've heard that location sometimes makes a difference, I live in Nevada - the car has been in temperatures over 100 about 5 times and never under 0 degrees, which seems about normal to me. Does anyone think that this is an average lifespan for a battery or might I have more serious problems?

furthermore, i am a real estate investor so i dont have paychecks or w2's, but i have over $100,000 in the bank. between being a 1st time car buyer and not being able to show any income via paychecks, can i still get auto financing? would it help if i put down like 50%? i want to buy a $60,000 car and i can put down about $20-$30k, would this help? does anybody know the name or have a link to somewhere that i could apply to get financing? perhaps if i can show my assets that might make a difference. can anyone help me with this please? thank you so much

I just bought a new ninja 250, and on the rpm guage, it says to keep the engine under 4000rpm during the "500mile" break-in period. But in order to reach 25mph with staying under 4000rpm, i have to go into the 5th or 6th gear. Do I really have to stay under 4000rpm for the first 500 miles?? Please explain...

Automobile engines use a myraid of senors and electronically controlled devices. Many of which have unique connectors with multiple pins. In my case, I need the clip or plug that connects onto the Vehiclest Speed Sensor (VSS) for a 1995 integra. Trips to junkyards have been unsucessfull. Many used part retailers will not cut a plug from a good harness. According to my research the VSS used in integras from 1994-2001 were not used in other vehicles ( http://www.tomco-inc.com/Catalog/vehicle%20speed%20sensors.pdf ) . The oem part number is 78410-st7-003.... Who makes these connectors? Does anybody stock them? Honda/Acura will sell a compete haness for several hundred dollars. This particular one is hard to find on ebay. Which is where I acquired the damaged one I have now. I've tried to modify civic/accord plugs without success.

It is a 1992 Harley Davidson Heritage Softtail. It has been sitting the last few months and I wanted to go for a ride. After taking awhile to start, it finally came up. After it was running it was shooting out oil. I know it does that when it sits, but I don't know if I just let it keep shooting out and then put more oil in, or if I just let it sit and try again in a day or a few hours.

It ran fine before this, and did not have any leaks.

Okay well first off I am trying to sell a '99 Buick Park Avenue and it has a total of about 38,000 miles on it. I'm trying to get a price I should ask but I can't find one. I was hoping there'd be one that's like, enter your car make, year, whatever and then it would give you the price you should ask. CDL test: if I have passed tanker and hazmat exams, in addition to all others required for a class B CDL, can I still use a 30' straight truck with a flatbed and no cargo (this is a class b truck) on the driving test, and still get a license with a tanker and hazmat endorsement?

In other words, must I use a tanker vehicle for the driving test in order to get the tanker and hazmat endorsements on my license, even if I have passed those exams?

just bought a 1972 Chevelle Malibu for dirt cheap. I wanted to increase performance and horsepower but i am new to this and wanted to know what i should do first and what the necessary steps are to complete this. Can i customize the current engine to perform how i want or is there something else i should be doing? I was told right now it has a V8 350/350. With these changes do i have to do anything different with the trans?

I have a 96' maxima. about 4 months ago it started having problems starting but if i pushed in the clutch pedal real hard it would start. i thought it was the clutch or the safety swith behind it. but its not. (already went down that route) ive taken the starter off and had them test the starter and the solenoid. it was fine. every once in a blue moon my car will start up just like it was new. no problem at all. it went from 1 every 4 times i tried (it would start like normal) -to 1 every 20 times and gradually now barely ever. but if someone pushes my car and i pop the clutch it starts just fine-can someone please help i want to be able to go places again!

i got my permit a month ago and i practiced turning and driving straight in an open area, but now this is my 2nd time driving in a less trafic road. Before i could drive straight without any problem, but now when i see a parked car i am scared i might hit its side mirriors, so that is why i move to the right alot. so how do can you tell if you are driving to close to hit the parked car and its side mirror?

Currently, I am living in CA and driving a resistered car, but I am temporarily going back to Japan about 6 month to one- year; therefore, I want to cancel my car resistation and car insurance. I have already submitted a cancelation form to my insurance company and told from when. however, I am not sure which form I should submit to DMV, non-operation or affidavit of non-use.
