My daughters friend wanted to buy a car from us. He agrees on a price of £120 (its an old car) but can only pay £50 at that time and agrees to bring the other £70 when he gets paid. I got him to sign the registration document but i never posted it. He went to london in it and never came back to pay the rest. We went to his flat and his friends gave us the key to the car and said take it back, the car has been broken into and the lock on the door is damaged and the steering colum is broke. Anyway we got it back and his girlfreind is demanding the £50 back. Were do we stand legally if we refuse to give it back because of the damage to the car. It is still registered in my hubbys name but the kid did sign the registration document. Are we still the legal owner or is the kid??? Need advice urgently. Thanx.

I have been having problems with my transmission lurching forward on my Jaguar S Type 2003. They have flashed the transmission control module 6 times, changed the transmission and now they tell me its an anti knock sensor. The car lurches forward violently when switching gears. Its an automatic. My question is what is an anti knock sensor and how will it stop the car from lurching?

Me & the other half brought a car from a garage about 2 weeks ago, the guy said he'd put it through it's m.o.t,and we were given a m.o.t certificate. however, we've since put it in to a trusted mechanic and he's told us that there is no way the car should have passed it's m.o.t with the state the brakes were in along with other things and we were lucky it hadn't done us some serious damage! i'm fuming! what can i do?
thanks for you help! :)

Does manual shifts wear out the transmission more than full automatic mode? Is it better to leave it at automatic mode?

I have a 2000 e46 328i and I enjoy up/down shifts using my steptronic transmission while I drive. Full automatic mode either under D or S just does not suit me.

I've been driving my car for the past 7 years, and would like to protect the tranny as much as I can.

i have a TMA amp made by jl audio its the t360.2 model it claims to put out 360 watts x 1 at 4 ohms when bridged.....when i run a single 12" alpine type r to it it pushes the alpine good if its bridged but the amp gets very hot pretty quick and eventually will shut down...why is this? i was told that when you bridge it the amp sees a 2 ohm load...but the amp is not stable bridged to 2 ohms right? the sub is wired to 4 ohms i know it is and its useless to not bridge it because it only puts out 110 watts unbridged....what do i do or is there just no way around this?

After years of usage, my headliner is falling off at certain areas making them look like balloons. I believe the glue has oxidized due to aging or sun. What can be done about it? I would like to stay away from having to purchase a brand new unit, which I know will be very expensive. Thanks for your suggestions.

I backed out of a parking spot and started driving forward and heard a noise that sounded like i ran over a piece of plastic or fiberglass. I drove the car about a hundred yards and parked it to figure out what was going on. When i got out of the car i saw a trail of oil and when i looked under the car i saw what appeared to be all of my valvoline running out onto the ground. The oil plug is still in and the filter is fine, and the area around it is dry, so i dont think its the oil pressure sending unit, but i cant really get a good look at it as i cant get the car in the air right now. the motor is still running smooth, so my original fears that i broke a connecting rod have passed, but i have no idea what it could be.The oil appears to be coming from the front side of the motor, below the exaust manifold. there is still a little oil left, just not enough to read on the dip stick. I actually drove the car a couple blocks to get it home, it hitched a couple times but otherwise ran fine

98 Dodge 3500, 2wd, 5 speed man., 24 valve diesel. 265k miles. I am having problems with it not starting after I shut it off. It just cranks and cranks, and it is like someone shut the fuel off. It started about 1 month ago. It used to start within 1/2 sec of cranking. Then it started taking up to 5 sec before firing up. Now, sometimes it starts, delayed, and others it does not start at all. The only way to start it is to use a little starting fluid in the air intake. I don't like doing this, but it is the only way. Once started, it runs perfect, idles great, plenty of power, no problems at all, until I shut it off. The fuel pump seems ok, it is not lagging the engine. Fuel is getting through the filter ok. Air filter is clean. Batteries are good. I do have a cracked exhaust manifold. The local Dodge people sucked, and did not know what it was. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have read on many european sites that the new automatic CVT bike will go into production for Europe sometime in 2008 and Japan late this year or early 2008. But no discussions on anything for the US.
the following is a web site where you can see this awesome bike

I was off from work today and was changing lanes to another freeway in a major city. The traffic was not too fast since it's rush-hour, but the lane I switched into was in a complete stop about 10 cars ahead. I slammed my brake and seconds later I hit the guy in front of me.

I felt the bump but both cars only had minor scraches. The other driver was complaining about headache and neck/shoulder pain but denies in need for medical care to the police.

We exchanged insurance info, but I thought he would just let it go since it's just so minor and his car is quite old.

But I got a call from him complaining that his rear door knobs are "stuck" that he can't open them.

So he offered us to settle on our own after he brings the car to a machanics tomorrow. He also said that he'll see if the pain feels better in the morning.

I'm just wondering if this is the best way to do it since we both don't get our insurance rate raised.

Assuming this is that a flaud, is settling it on our own th
