Honestly I think they are a waste of money. The cops take to long to get to your house if someone breaks in.
Just get to know your neighbors. Watch out for each others house. Oh, that's if you live in a nice neighborhood. I realized we aren't all blessed with friendly and safe neighborhoods.
I have phone numbers of all my neighbors on the block in case of emergencies.
