Yeah pushing the tow button shuts off the overdrive gear wich is designed for better fuel economy.

Considering Auto makers have been in an MPG war the past few years your not going to out engineer the auto makers. At least in a cost effective way anyhow.

We have 04 with a hemi and have found if not driving at freeway speed we can increase our mileage by using the trailer tow button on shifter to change tranny characteristics. The only other way to do without major modifications is to have chip installed in computer. This can be real effective for forpower as well.

try a couple of things, cold air intake, cat back exhaust system but these changes only make a mild difference. the only real way is to watch your driving habits......trust me I know, my 5.9L Jeep GC doesn't get very good MPG. I just watch how I drive, keep it tuned properly and slow down if I really don't need to pass them LOL

Wtf is the above guy talking about, using the tow/haul mode will decrease the mileage, it locks it out of 4th gear so you will have higher rpms.
