I'm deciding on which car I'm going to purchase soon and I needed a few opinions. I do alot of driving to hockey during the winter and I get fairly bad weather up here in Northeastern Pa. I need to know which car will handle best out of those three, and how each would do individually. Thanks very much.

The Jetta will do the best in the snow. Cars are built to work best in their native conditions. VWs are built for climbing hills, driving on ruff roads and in the snow like they have in Germany hence the awd models, turbo models, and extensive undercarrage protection. Japanese cars are built for goos gas mileage and to small because of overcrowded roads and the little use of cars in Japan. A RSX and a Civic are essentially the same thing. Don't waste your money on a fancy badge if you do choose one of the Japanese cars and go with the civic.

VW's do great in the snow. I have a New Beetle, and live in a climate with lots of snow. No problems, I've driven it in snow over 3 inches and never got stuck. Jetta is built on the same platform as my bug, so would handle identically in the snow.
I've also found snow tires help a lot if you truly get a lot of snow in the winter.

All of them will do fine, its the tires that make the difference, get four winter tires, mount them on separate wheels and change over in the fall. All season tires are not really meant for much winter driving, the compound has to be too hard because people expect them to last. Dedicated winter tires have a softer compound that stays pliable in freezing weather and will grip even on ice.

whichever one has the best snow tires. any fwd car should fare well in the snow in general. it's the tires that make all the difference.
