I have a '71 Arrow Glass Riviera inboard/outboard. The lower unit will not tilt up. When I try to raise it up, I just hear a weird noise, like its trying to, but its obviously malfunctioning. I dont know what this part is called, is there a kit to fix this, and what is it called? Or is it more complicated than this?

1996 Ford Taurus GL produces no heat or cool air.

Air motor responds to all four speed control settings with a low to high pitch whirring, but no air is moved. Engine temperature normal even for extended driving periods [hours of driving]. On AC setting, it sounds like compressor is engages.

Just before it stopped working it sounded like something in the air system was banging around. Now, it occasionally will bang around some more, but still without moving any air [hot or cold].

My uneducated guess is that the fan/blower has stopped turning or is damaged, or there is a belt that helps this fan/blower to turn which has broken/come unattached.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Does this work from state to state? Does it cost to check, like carfax? If so doesn't that mean when buying a used car you could get the VI # and check it out 1st?

um you know how people go 4 wheeling like in their jeeps and trucks...well is there such a thing that is called sport sedaning? i was in the market for a sport sedan and i was just wondering...like where people in their sport sedans go back in the back roads and in very curvy roads and like try jsut joy ride and see what their cars can do?

and my second Q: was if there is such a thing or something like it then if i bought a 2006 lincoln LS V8 would it be able to keep up with the performance of the other sport sedans? would it handle the curves as good and would it be able to keep up with the others in a straight away? since 2006 they only had the V8 Sport does that mean all of the 06's have a sport suspension?

but all i guess i am asking is is there such a thing as that and if there is is that car a good one to do it in?

Well to be frank, i'm a 19 year old girl who really knows nothing about cars. My boyfriend is a computer guy, not a handy man, and so is my dad. Fortunately, my step dad knows cars and when my brakes started grinding I called him to see if he could figure out what was wrong.

apparently my front right rotor is dead and my brake pads in the front are pretty gone.

He said i'm looking at spending 100-150 to get them fixed at Midas. Has anyone been there before or can anyone confirm this for me? I have to take my car in tomorrow and I don't want to be tricked into spending more than I need to.

It's a 2000 Dodge Stratus if that means anything, and my back brakes are fine.

I have a 1986 Honda Accord that has a leak in the radiator. I can't figure out where the leak is coming from; it's not coming from the radiator hose. When I look underneath the car, I just see the fluid seeping out from the grill. I know nothing about cars, what does it sound like? If it's a leak in the radiator itself, how do I get a better look at the radiator itself? What is the best manual to look for? The Chilton guide? Are there any other hoses I'm not seeing? Thanks.

Or must you provide your own vehicle? I need to know because the vehicles my family owns all don't fit the criteria needed to take the test with (center console, no parking brake, broken speedometer, etc.)

For Mercedes cars, a long wheelbase means what? Is the 420 SEL longer or wider than a SE or SD? I have a 300SD and 420 SEL and don't notice a difference. Someone told me my 420 SEL is 6 inches wider and longer, but I don't think so.

My friend has a 96' Integra LS. He's put stuff in the engine, and i think it's pushing at most 240 hp. I'm about to buy a '98 Trans Am, that's only mods are a cutout exhaust, and a WS6 hood. Anyways, my friend always talks about how fast his car is, and how he'd beat anyone, and I wish he'd shut up. Would my car, assuming we have the same driving skills, beat his? Also, is it true that GM seriously underrated the power of the Trans Am LS1?

Our truck just quit and if my hubby and father in law can't get it started again we will need a car quickly. We need something with a back seat seeing as i'm 8 months prego. I handle all the finances in the house and know we can handle payments of ~$150. Is it possible to get a good Jeep for this amount. This is the kind of car he wants and we have been thinking of getting one, but figured we would wait until he gets his yearly bonus from work or possibly taxes. Can't wait now. So What is a good price?? We live in Arizona.

I just bought a 1996 Sunfire. My boyfriend and I were going over it, making sure my lights and such worked. A couple issues.

My 4ways will only work if I flick on a signal light first.

My lowbeams refuse to work.. I only suceed in turning on my dashlights. My high beams work fine.

The little button is out of my e-brake. (someone was drifting with it before I bought it >.<) Do I have to replace the whole e-brake or can just the button be replaced?

I also have a Hayes manual for 95-04 Sunfire and Cavaliers, so if direction to pages is in order, thats fine too.
For the record, Its a standard.. 2.2 engine, SOHC.

Thanks a bunch guys.
