Does this work from state to state? Does it cost to check, like carfax? If so doesn't that mean when buying a used car you could get the VI # and check it out 1st?

msn auto for sure will just type in serial # and a list of recalls will show and yes all recalls have to be fixed no matter who owns the vehicle for the fact that most recalls are safety related

Call the dealer with the VIN and they will usually give you the low down and yes no matter who owns the car if its a recall they fix it for free

go to youre car makers web site it should have a page were you can look up youre models recall. i know the ford site has one
