I have a '71 Arrow Glass Riviera inboard/outboard. The lower unit will not tilt up. When I try to raise it up, I just hear a weird noise, like its trying to, but its obviously malfunctioning. I dont know what this part is called, is there a kit to fix this, and what is it called? Or is it more complicated than this?

Depends on the out drive you have, Some take oil Some are mechanical.Need some more input before i can help???

follow the noise to the trim motor and reservoir. fill the reservoir with hydraulic oil or Dex 3 transmission fluid and try it. watch for leaks.
