what do you think about these? are they really necessary past a point? should they be done so often and the average citizen be forced to pay so much? once the car is yours and you buy the plates is it really necessary to re-register it every year? also for inspection, should that be optional? many states do not have it, others do. there is no noticable difference in accidents in either place, or any other statistic. what about recreational vehicles like ATV's? if a motorcycle has 2 wheels and is allowed, why not a bigger, safer version? what do you think about this?

I have one 12" kicker l7 running off of a memphis prd1000.1 and a panasonic cd player with the sub output 5v(if it matters?). but I was wondering if I got a crossover for my system if it would make it hit harder and sound better. and if so what brand should I go with?

There are expensive high performance tires on the vehicle. In a few months time, the two front tires have both had what looks like gashes appear on the tire (but not deep enough to make the tire flat.) I heard this is usually because of a defective tire, but I have a hard time believing it would happen to two of the tires in such a short amount of time.

Is there anything else that would have weakened the sidewall or caused this splitting to occur? Is this common with high performance tires?

My wife cosigned on a truck for her friend and now that we are moving, she is not comfortable with leaving her friend the truck. basically she doesnt trust him to make the payments even though he has not missed one yet. what courses of action can she take to get the truck back or get her name off the loan short of a long legal affair.

I believe this is what the dealer told me. My real question is this: I took it out for a 100,000 mile/4 year warranty. What happens if I hit 100,000 miles before 4 years? Will I still get the refund?

I have a friend who was a couple of months late on his truck payments. All of a sudden when he was about to go work the next morning, his vehicle wasn't there anymore. Could it be that it was stolen or was it the lender who took the vehicle away during the night? Can they do that without warning? It just seems really strange.

In a past life (before children) my wife and I loved old Volkswagens. We owned bugs, buses, and types 3s. We did most of the work of rehabbing ourselves and still have most of the specialty tools. Now that the kids are getting older and leaving us time to do the things we use to love doing, we want to find our ultimate old VW and restore it. The question is where is the best place to find an old VW . In the past we looked in the want adds and used word of mouth to find VWs. But with the VWs getting harder to find and considering what the northeast does to cars we are looking to find VW from a no road salt area. We are willing to go anywhere in the contiguous US to get our project. Are there any great VW junkyards around? Does anyone know of any dealers in old VWs? We are ideally looking for a car we can redo from the ground up but will be willing to look at almost any condition and make VW pre 1970.

I questioned him about the labor and he said that the fuel pump is hard to get to and it took 7-8 hour to fix. I asked what the hourly labor rate was and he told me that they charge by the job not hourly. He is a friend and has always done a great job but I think he was desparate for money. I don't really care about the money its a trust issue as well as being concerned about his financial condition. He is a really nice guy and probably felt really bad if he did soak me. If not, I will feel better about him. Either way I am not going to say anything more. Just want to know. If you can give me some solid facts as a mechanic, car dealer, race car driver or crew member, or a weekend car buff I would appreciate it.

I recently bought a 2nd hand boat with a suzuki DF 140hp 2004 model and the trim gauge is not working. I have 12v at the gauge when I turn on the ignition. When I ground (ie earth)out the sender wire the gauge needle moves from 'fully down' to 'fully up'. So, I figure the problem is with the sender - any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this problem?? Thanks in advance. Tim

That guy in that movie “Catch me if you can” pretended to be an Airline pilot? Say if I practiced on Microsoft simulator and faked a pilot’s license and made up some flight hours in a log book would it be possible to fool the airlines into employing me as a pilot?
