The major difference is options.The LS has fewer options than the LT. The LT is closer to the top tahoe on options and is only beaten by the LTZ.

Installed options on the vehicle. The LS models are basic equipment, the LT is more equipped. Plus the higher price for the LT model. Its just a matter of options that are installed.

It may come with different casualties like seats. for example, the Chevy aveo LS only has cloth seats. The LT has an option of getting leather seats.

Trim/Options.

LS- Usually cloth, standard interior and standard engine. However, you can get a few LT options on LS, you just pay more for them in the long run.

LT- Leather, more high end interior with more engine choices, usually. Overall exterior trim may be slightly higher quality.

LTZ- The Absolute high end package. Usually with all the goodies.

S usually means SPORT...T for Touring... the L is for limited production

not only wat he said, different models come with different features. look at the nissan pathfinder for example. the pathfinder V6 SE dosent offer navigation or leather seats whiile the pathfinder V6 LE does offer those features.
