I believe this is what the dealer told me. My real question is this: I took it out for a 100,000 mile/4 year warranty. What happens if I hit 100,000 miles before 4 years? Will I still get the refund?

I should have clarified: I was told I would get this refund IF I never had to use the warranty at all.

There is an extended warranty that is being offered now that does have that feature. If you never use the extended warranty for anything, you can get a refund at the end of the time or mileage limits!

Most people will need some sort of repair that would be covered by the warranty, and if you don't, the company makes money on the interest that the price makes over the 4 year period! They refund the money, but have had the use of it for free over the time you were covered!

Forget about refund. It is like insurance, not a lottery. If you have car insurance and don't get into an accident, do you get a refund? No. If you have home owner's insurance and your house does not burn down, do you get a refund? No.

The salesman at the dealer was spinning something into something you wanted to hear, and so you took it to be something it was not, which is what salesmen are all about. He convinced you to convince yourself you were getting something that was not there, in other words, it is all smoke and mirrors.

Maybe. It depends on how the contract was written. Look your paperwork over then talk to someone at the dealer, usually the finance person sells the ex. warr. Not all polices are the same. Good luck. Remember: no one wants to talk to some one ranting and raving as soon as they walk in the door.

Nope! Ya can't get a refund for something you've wasted. But if you really feel so strongly about it, you have two options: 1) Sue them (though you'll likely get put down by the judge the first day in court), or 2) Go get another car and cancel the extended warranty on that. Otherwise, you're screwed.

I can't believe this. Either your salesman lied or you misunderstood...or both. After 30 or 60 days most warranties are non-refundable.

If the dealership amassed the tax on the guaranty then they could desire to refund it of you cancel the guaranty. in case you paid the tax on the DMV (consumer-friendly practice in many states) then you particularly'll could desire to hold the place of work work to the DMV to have the tax on the guaranty refunded to you. there is yet another attention nevertheless: If the guaranty wasn't taxed in the 1st place, there is not something to be refunded to you.
