CDL test: if I have passed tanker and hazmat exams, in addition to all others required for a class B CDL, can I still use a 30' straight truck with a flatbed and no cargo (this is a class b truck) on the driving test, and still get a license with a tanker and hazmat endorsement?

In other words, must I use a tanker vehicle for the driving test in order to get the tanker and hazmat endorsements on my license, even if I have passed those exams?

no, for hazmat you need to just get finger printed and take your written test and have background check done.

You can take the test in any vehicle that is over 26,001 GVWR. If you are going to need an air brake endorsement, the truck must have air brakes, but does not need to be a tanker!

The short answer is you can take the driving test in a flatbed truck, and get the endorsements!

you should be ok to drive the straight truck if it has air brakes, but if your going to be driving a semi and tanker you have to get a class A with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
