I'm interested in buying a 2000 Dodge Neon for 1,900 dollars. It was traded in at the dealers place and they havnt put any work into it. The only problem with the car is that the sun roof doesnt work and the air cond. needs alittle tunning. Everything else is fine. We even took it for a ride.

As of today, two people had mentioned that Dodgeneons are a waste and I should stay away from them.
Whats you opinion on the 00' dodge neons?

I am trying to teach my teen to drive and I would like to know what other parents have been doing to get their kids ready to drive. My teen is already taking lessons from a driving school but I would like some pointers from experienced people. For example, what should I cover in each lesson and how should I gradually ease her into getting comfortable with driving. If anyone could offer tips or websites that would help me, I would be very grateful.

I have recently bought a 2001 Dodge Dakota quard cab 4x4 with the 5.9L 360CID it has 175k miles after about a week of owning this new JEWEL it developed a coolant leak at the water pump weep hole. r&r'ed water pump and t-stat now this thing builds up way to much pressure the coolant system is a 21 pound system and when i start the engine my pressure tester reads it to build to aroun 36lbs with in about 10 mins it was showing to run warm before the water pump and t-stat but now it gets realy realy hot. and builds enough pressure to blow most of the coolant out of the system. then i thought head gasket has an exhaust gas test ran on it no coolant in exhaust and no exhaust in the coolant but i am showing bubbles at the radiator filler neck? if anyone has any ideas I would be very greatful and might even by you a beer if Im able to get this thing roadworthy again.

OMG, what to choose? Ok, now, we don't want a super fast car and of course not a new one for an inexperience driver.
But, there is so many to choose from and we are looking for something safe, practical, not too geeky looking, and would be good for a first time driver.
This is for our son who is small in height. I believe he is only about 5'3" and weighs only 85lbs.
He is at the age of getting his license.
I looked at Honda Accords, but don't see a crash rating for it.
We are looking to ONLY spend about $1500. When he is more experienced, THEN he can get whatever he wants with his own money.
Any sites for "for sale by owner's"? I keep pulling up car dealers in my area.
Need input on car makes and safety.
THANKS!! :-)

I have a radio that is listed as waterproof/water resistant. But, how waterproof is it?

I asked this question to the manufacturer of the marine radio, and they sent me a link to WikiPedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Industrial_Standard - This is not really the definitive source I need, and it does not specifically list JIS4. I also did not find JIS4 listed on the Japanese Industrial Standards website.

Thanks in advance for your help!

My Galant is making a loud screeching sound upon start-up and when the acceleration is stepped on. Sometimes it also does this when the A/C is turned on. It started in Dec. when it was very cold out and has progressively gotten worse to the point it lasts for the whole drive. It is not as bad when the car is stopped or being put in park. What could it be? How much will it cost to fix? I am getting it fixed this Thurs and want to be prepared.

My roommate has a 1998 Kia Sophia that originally had a bad belt took it in to get it changed. They changed her belt a long with one of the barrings and ball joints in the front of the car. After she got her car back the squeaking noise came back when she would turn the AC on, then it starting doing it when the AC was off, but just for a minute or so.

She took it to another guy who then replaced her water pump, she also ended up getting ANOTHER belt as the new one was already getting worn.

Now, about a week later the car still squeaks with and without the AC on but now there's a new problem. It started out when she would put her car in reverse and turn the wheel the car would make this really loud squealing noise and then the wheel would lock. She would have to jerk it really hard to get it to unlock. That went on for a few days...and now the car squeals a lot while just driving and if she turns a lot to the left or right the wheel will lock.

Her power steering fluid is full.
