I just bought a 1999 GMC Jimmy and i need help figuring out whats wrong with the a/c. I turn it on but the air isnt cool. The heater seems to be working fine. The previous owner has had it recharged before, but it only lasted 2 weeks and the mechanic said that there was no leaks. Just curious if anyone can tell me what could possibly be wrong and maybe how much it would cost to fix it.

They say that it is a criminal offence not to display the sign. I do not want a sticker on the dashboard of my car. Only I drive it and I do not smoke. Does anybody have knowledge of this regulation. I live in Scotland where we have had a no smoking law for a while and have never been asked to display a sticker.

I have a 1985 toyota supra and it was raining real bad the other night and my car was fine before the rain. When i left my house my car wasnt going into gears or at least thats what it felt like it was as if it was going into neutral i couldnt go very fast. It seemed to get better as the days went on but its not the same. What could this have been? my car shifts gears fine its just the problem when im driving its no kicking in.

I bought a car off cars.com from this guy & he lied & said nothing was wrong with it, & now it's causing me a whole bunch of problems. & come to find out, the guy who sold me the car never had it legally in his name, so I had to get a Surety Bond on the car.

It broke down on me the next day & then I took it to a mechanic, & after that it was fine for about a week. Now, the car is acting really crazy again, & my friends tell me that it's a danger on the road. When I press on the gas, I have to press EXTRA hard, & the car hesitates to go & then makes a loud sound. It's like the car is yelling & screaming @ me. When we got out the car, the car's engine was smoking. & we only drove about 0.2 miles to the pathology clinic to get some blood drawn.

Is the car gonna blow up? I'm really scared. Smoke is coming from the engine. Should I put water on it or would it make things worse? Or should I leave it alone? I don't have the money for a mechanic or to get the car towed. I need help.

I am a student, so cost is what matters to me.

I have a nissan altima 1995, it has 220 k km and so far I've changed the engine ( original 33,000 km) and trani( original 77,000) because it was my fult not fixing the waterpump and engine overheated and so on

Also, I've changed the distributer, battery and starter

Is it worth just to keep with it and go along with small repairs for one more year?

if i buy another used car, i would then i have to spend money on my car to sell it, spend more money for a better car and then maybe I would have to spend repairs on that car if it hasn't been to the mechanic in a while

what do you guys think?

Soon Porsche will introduce a four door car to further expand its line. They already have the Cayenne SUV, and have according to recent tests "softened" the standard Carrera and Turbo models. Do these actions, along with prices that are creeping closer to "exotic" car levels show that Porsche is moving away from their traditional "enthusiast" clientel and aiming for the Grand Touring market?

Im probably getting a new car soon so I need to sell my current 1993 Toyota Celica..

originally paid $2600 for it when it had about 143,000 miles on it

Now has 147,000 miles on it but since then it has...
-New headlight motors
-New stereo
-New speakers

Engine runs great, has never ever had an engine issue (of course its toyota, why would it..), body is in good condition, and also has a full body kit and spoiler on it.

Never been in an accident; basically a clean history.

headlights, the engine shuts off. It will run fine, with the AC, Radio, blinkers, and even the parking lights, but as soon as I try to turn the headlight on, it kills the engine. The lights turn on, even when the engine is off, but it will not allow it to start when they are on. Any ideas any one????

Jeep recommends Mopar engine oil filter but the MOPAR filter I find locally is shorter than the one currently on my Liberty. The one on my Liberty is not MOPAR. can I use the shorter MOPAR engine oil filter? Thanks for any helpful advice.

I was just wondering, if I ever wanted to get a boat and start sailing around the world with, crossing vast oceans and stuff, what would the best type of boat be? Something not greatly complicating, and does not require a large crew. Something that can be managed by less than 5 people for example, and yet has space for more.
