$2,500.00 down. $150.00 per month. For 36 months. At a tottal cost when all is said and done at $7,900.00 for a 2003 dodge neon in excellent condition with 76000 miles on it? Is this a good deal, or a suckers deal? What would you advise? Thanks all.

I don't think so.
Check around for something else I'm sure you find a better deal.
Good luck.

What is the actual cost of the vehicle and what is the interest rate on the loan? You seem to already be including the interest in your total cost. $2500 + ($150 * 36) = $7900. Any car is a bad deal if you're getting a high interest loan.

As to whether it's a good deal or not, it's hard to say. You don't mention what options the Neon has. I think the standard advice applies -- check the estimated value at all the regular sites to make sure you're getting a fair price:

The price is way too high given the Neon's poor reliability and depreciation.
I'd come down another 1500 or more. Check kbb.com or edmunds.com to get a ballpark value.

Dodge Neons have head gasket problems. They are some of the worst cars on the road. Dodge cars interior tends not to hold up well. MOST American 4 cylinder cars tend not to hold up well, and about all of Dodge's 4cyl. cars don't hold up well at all. As for the price I think it is high. They also have very poor resale value.

Sounds overpriced, and the dealer is ripping you off.
