I have a 1985 toyota supra and it was raining real bad the other night and my car was fine before the rain. When i left my house my car wasnt going into gears or at least thats what it felt like it was as if it was going into neutral i couldnt go very fast. It seemed to get better as the days went on but its not the same. What could this have been? my car shifts gears fine its just the problem when im driving its no kicking in.

Take it to a tranny shop and have it checked. No one can understand what your problem is. One sentence states "my car wasnt going into gears" and the last sentence says "my car shifts gears fine".

I agree with the above answer. The clutch is bad. Having all that water and moisture in the air didn't help the clutch grab and made the clutch disc even more slippery. Get it fixed or one day you may be left on the side of the road.

Often changing the trans fluid & filter corrects these problems & it can't hurt. When they drain the fluid the condition may tell you something. Its the best place to start, unless you have not checked the level in awhile?
