I am a student, so cost is what matters to me.

I have a nissan altima 1995, it has 220 k km and so far I've changed the engine ( original 33,000 km) and trani( original 77,000) because it was my fult not fixing the waterpump and engine overheated and so on

Also, I've changed the distributer, battery and starter

Is it worth just to keep with it and go along with small repairs for one more year?

if i buy another used car, i would then i have to spend money on my car to sell it, spend more money for a better car and then maybe I would have to spend repairs on that car if it hasn't been to the mechanic in a while

what do you guys think?

It doesn't make sense to put a bunch of money into a car and then sell it. You may have to put the same money into the next car you buy. Look at it this way. Any money you spend for repairs is almost always cheaper than a monthly car payment.
Newer cars break too.

By the sound of it I would say just keep doin minor repairs on your car..make it last another year..then save your money and see about gettin a better used car or even a brand new one...a few tips-- Don't drive so much during the summer its hotter so it works your car more..when you do have to drive(if its a short distance) drive with the windows down to save your air conditoner..and make sure that you change the oil every month or so...hope this helps

you know what you have with your car. While you are in school, you may want to save your money. I'm sure you will need it when you get out of school and try to get started on your own. Just hang with it until you can get a full time job and start making some real money. good luck.

I think you've answered your own question. If the cash outlay to sell your vehicle and obtain a new one is too burdensome right now, I think it's the abosolutely best thing to hang on to your vehicle. Hopefully, your repairs will be little to none. Good luck!

You know what you have now, if you buy a used one you'll likely be buying someone else's problem. If you can save enough to buy one with a warranty it will give you a little rest on worry.
