Remove the negative battery connection first. Remove serp. belt by releasing the tension on the belt by rotating tensioner. Remove the small bolt on the inboard side of the alt. Using a swivel socket and after either removing or pushing the wiring to the side, remove the alternator through bolt at the motor side. This one isn't so easy to get at and they sometimes put another nut on it to attach a wiring clip which would have to come out first also. There also might be a pencil brace going down to the head which you will have to remove the bolt if it is there. Then wiggle the alt and twist it out. Then disconnect the wiring to it. Be careful when removing the nut from the alt as it has a tendency to want to break the wiring connector. Then reverse this procedure. Good luck.
