I bought a car off cars.com from this guy & he lied & said nothing was wrong with it, & now it's causing me a whole bunch of problems. & come to find out, the guy who sold me the car never had it legally in his name, so I had to get a Surety Bond on the car.
It broke down on me the next day & then I took it to a mechanic, & after that it was fine for about a week. Now, the car is acting really crazy again, & my friends tell me that it's a danger on the road. When I press on the gas, I have to press EXTRA hard, & the car hesitates to go & then makes a loud sound. It's like the car is yelling & screaming @ me. When we got out the car, the car's engine was smoking. & we only drove about 0.2 miles to the pathology clinic to get some blood drawn.
Is the car gonna blow up? I'm really scared. Smoke is coming from the engine. Should I put water on it or would it make things worse? Or should I leave it alone? I don't have the money for a mechanic or to get the car towed. I need help.

Sue that sonofabitch who sold you the car that "had nothing wrong with it" for false advertising! You shouldn't have had to put up with him and everyone else shouldn't, either! He should be dealt away with in court!

This car sounds like a mess. To tell you what you should do is impossible because I don't know what's wrong with the car. But buying a car off the internet doesn't sound like a good idea to begin with. Buy privately through the classified ads of from a local used car lot that has been there for a long time. And never buy a car that has title issues.
As soon as that came up, you should have ran for cover. Test driving a car is the most important aspect of guying a used car, and the buyer should beat on it a little during the test.
And if the car is not road worthy, taking it off the road and parking it until you can fix it might not be a bad idea. not sense in paying insurance for a car that don't drive.

Did you contact cars.com and inform them of this problem? they may be able to help.
As you now know, you should have had the car checked before you bought it.
With that being said, don't pour water on the hot engine, that can cause a whole bunch of problems. Make sure that the coolant level is full. Try and not drive it until you can have a friend that is knowledgeable about cars take a look. They may be able to give you some direction about the troubles you are having. You could also try taking the car to an auto parts store that will read error codes on the computer for free. I wish you the best of luck, on this.

Unfortunately you are stuck. There is a saying that we all have to live with in today's society and just like you we've all learned it the hard way. "Let the buyer beware." You will get nowhere by suing this idiot regardless of what people tell you here. Unless you can prove that he knew of the problems before he sold you the car you will get nowhere other than spending time and court costs. Jurisdiction is also a problem. If the seller is located in another county you will have to sue him in that county.
I'm sorry to say that the best that you can hope for now is to decide if it's worth having the work done on the car and keeping it or if the work will cost more than the car is worth. In that case, bite the bullet and move on to something else. Good luck.

There is no way to tell whats wrong with the turd that sob sold you. Let this be a lesson to you, never ever buy a car on line or sight unseen without an explicit warranty in writing thats good for at least 30 days. You will not be able to cancel your insurance as they will require proof that you sold or scrapped the car, you cannot supply that. If you paid less than $1000 for it, I would cut my losses now and scrap it and start from scratch. It is possible to try to take them to court if you can prove they lied to you and intentionally mislead you.

If someone hits you from behind, it's their fault, no matter what. You could stall for any reason, mechanical or human error. They have to wait for you to move. Hope that eases your mind on that point. For the other stuff, sue, sue, sue. Good luck.
