For the past 2 years, my tranny hasn't sometimes been shifting from 1st to 2nd until about 26-28 MPH. After that happens, it goes into failsafe. Now it happens always right after start. I think it could be the pulse generator, because when this problem occurred first 4 years ago, the dealer replaced the pulse generator and it worked fine after that. Also, I wonder if corrosion on the battery can contribute to inaccurate voltage in the transmission. One dealer detected the codes p0740, p0743, p0722 (about 2 years ago) and said it would then need the car a few days to troubleshoot more. Another dealer read other codes (about a year ago), which I don't have yet, and said to replace the transmission. What do you think? Also, am I doing anything to the engine if I drive on 1st up to 26-28 MPH when the tranny switches or if I drive 15-20 MPH in 1st? I don't have an RPM meter, so hard to tell if it goes into the red. Is there anyway to start the vehicle and be immediately in failsafe?

On my 99, I looked on the bottom of the doors and rust in forming there. One side of the car already is starting to bubble on the outside of the paint, right on the corner of the door where it meets the back part of the car. After it rains, it seems like water is always trapped in the doors because if I roll up and down the window the next day, the window is wet. Are these bad gaskets for the doors/windows, causing water to be trapped, or is there drain holes at the bottom of the door that could be clogged? Any help is appreciated, I need this FIXED. I've looked at a few other same gen Celicas at school and I've seen a couple others with rust in the same spot as mine.

For example, the driver/passenger side windows (bottom side) have a horizontal lining on the exterior of my 2002 Rsx Type-s. It was black and is now fading into an ugly grey color. Anyone know what I could do?

Does anyone know what I can do? The seat belt is stuck and cannot be used. It is stuck inside the panel section and we have tried pulling on it and such but to no avail. Should we take it to the dealership? Would they charge me for fixing it? It is not under warranty any longer but we are still making payments on it.

Hi all....I had some change lying around and a penny fell into the lighter's well and stayed lodged there awhile till I got it out. After that, the lighter won't work and I can't charge my cell phone inside my car!

Curiously, I can't fine the repair solution ANYWHERE in my new store-bought book (from Barnes and Noble) on how to repair most car problems......

Is this a fuse problem, as one friend suggested?

Regards - S.

I have heard because the weight distribution of a truck is all in the front, the back end is prone to fishtailing???

All research I have done says the heavier vehicles are safer, but I can't find anything comparing trucks to cars.

I have a 97' nissan that I only really use to drive to the train station on the way to work or to stop at a local store. I never drive more than 3,000 miles in a year with this car. Is it okay to get an oil change just once a year? If not why not? Please give me a link or explain your answer either way. Thanks!

What's the difference between BR8ES and BR8EG spark plugs? I have a 97 cr125 and am considering changing from BR8ES's.

Also where's the best place to buy NGK plugs in packs of 10 or more?

What do you all think is the best for a 97 Cr125, mixed at 32:1 with a new top end? I only run NGK plugs

BR8ES
BR9ES
BR8EG
BR9EG

Or possibly is it worth it to step up to Iridium plugs?
