Hi all....I had some change lying around and a penny fell into the lighter's well and stayed lodged there awhile till I got it out. After that, the lighter won't work and I can't charge my cell phone inside my car!

Curiously, I can't fine the repair solution ANYWHERE in my new store-bought book (from Barnes and Noble) on how to repair most car problems......

Is this a fuse problem, as one friend suggested?

Regards - S.

It could very well be a fuse problem as your friend suggested.
If you have an owners manual you should look that up.
If you don't have a manual, I'll provide the link to download:

http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WOWCON/~MUS~LEN/41/98conog1e.pdf

see pages 109-119

If you cannot download the manual from here, please email me & I can walk you through another way.

I hope this helps!

Our family has a 2002 continental and it is a very nice car, but your going to need to save up for gas, with an 18 gallon tank which hold only about 15 gallon. the car is better than some SUV's on gas, 16 mpg, it has a computer that tells us the fuel economy for the car. Manufature says 17-25mpg is Bull Sh*t. And you won't even get 18 mpg as someone mentioned, thats how bad on gas it is.

Find the fuse box, If you don,t know which one get you a test light and you will find it , What you do with the test light turn on the switch (don,t crank ) turn on parking lights , Ground test light clamp it to some metal non painted and touch both sides of the fuses they should all light up when you come across one that don,t light up take it out and look at it, If it Is blown and replace it , Have some fuses with you. good luck
