i just did the 4 wheel disc brakes and rotors on my intrepid last weekend. everything went good. well yesterday i notices the front drivers side brake is making a noise like metal on metal. it does it off and on like the rotor is warped and its only contacting a certian spot every revolution. i know the rotor isnt warped, and the pads are brand new. what could it be? i put lube between the caliper and pads when i did it also.

im going to take off the drivers side wheel but i dont know what to look for

I have a 96 Chevy Tahoe with 116,000 miles on it. One thing that has always bothered me since I bought the car last October is the gas guage. When I accelerate, the gas guage moves up and when I brake it goes down. It's getting to be like a quarter of a tank each time. When the car is off, it moves back up again. I know that some movement is normal, but is this much normal? The fuel pump was replaced at 96,000 miles. My uncle thinks that I should replace my sending unit, and that will make the gauge dead on accurate. I ran out of gas last week, and when I was waiting around for my friend to bring me some gas, the gauge moved back up to 1/4 of a tank. And I know it didn't have that if i ran out of gas... Do you have any suggestions? I would really need to get this taken care of because I don't want to have to rely on the odometer full time. I would like a gas gauge that works properly. Thank you.

My car's a 2001 Hyundai with under 50,000 miles. I recently had the fuel filter replaced and the battery is only 1 yr old. It started and i got halfway down my street and it just died. I started it up again and as soon as i put it into drive it died again. I waited 10 minutes and it ran just fine. I haven't had any problems since then.

I found a second-hand car which is TOYOTA. But this morning, after I test driving this car, I found there was wet under the right front seat, especially on the back of that plastic floormap, but the other places is dry, just under the right front seat's floormap. We turn on the AC all the time while driving, is that the reason to cause the wet of that place?Or something else was wrong?
So far, I thought this car will be a good deal, but before I make clearly about this question, I can't make a dicision.

Well listening to everyone input when I posted before, I began to believe my car starting problems resulted from a bad starter. I jumpstarted it so I could take it to the shop, won't know whats wrong with it till Mon, and it turned on. Could it still be the starter, if the car turns on with a jumpstart? ( I already have a new battery, and new battery terminals). I have a automatic transmission, Mazda 626 1998.

It's a Yamaha 750 Maxim 4 Cylinder, the bike doesn't seem to be overheating , it sits and idles fine, but if ridden for more than 5 minutes loses power and then dies. After waiting 15 minutes or so it will start and run again for another 5, what do you think this is?

Hi
My sister got reported for a minor accident, she is a learner driver and she took a corner wrong and went accross the road and hit a lamp post, she wasn't driving fast. They drove off as nothing was damaged. She has just been sent a letter for the police saying they will have to investigate and she is really distraught. She had L plates up and was with a suitable supervisor. Does anyone have any experience of this and what is likely to happen.

With no prior symptoms of a battery or electrical problem, I got into my 93 Taurus GL 3.0 V-6 last night outside of a store where I had parked it, and attempted to start it. It was stone dead, no click, no cranking sound, no lights, no instruments, no radio, no fuel pump sound, no nothing. It was as though the battery had been removed from the vehicle. I had a friend show up with jumper cables, and the car started and ran when jumped, although the clock, radio settings, etc. had all been zeroed out. I drove it home where I swapped out the battery for a compatible good one I had in another vehicle. When I opened the door to get into the Taurus, the interior overhead light went on. But when I inserted the key and tried to start it, everything instantly went stone dead again. This is with the good replacement battery. I put the "old" battery back in, jump started it and it ran fine. Any ideas as to what my problem is?

i filled up the tanks, and changed out the fuel pump, and the filters. the problem is that there is no gas even getting the the fuel pump, but not even a week ago it was running. Am i going to have to take the fuel tank off to find out what the problem is? Because the tanks sit high and it is hard to see anything on top (that is where the lines go in). Please help.

My CMC was shot, here is what i have done:

1) Replaced CMC,cleaned reservoir.
2) Attached clear tube to bleeder and filled reservoir with new fluid, opened bleeder and pumped clutch till all old fluid came out and i saw new fluid exiting bleeder into clear tube. So it is now flushed.
3) I want to now pressurize and bleed the system. I have 2 people for the job.

a) attach new piece of clear tube on bleeder.
b) have jar, half filled with fresh fluid that clear tube is submerged in.
c) the reservoir is now filled to the max .
d) my plan is to open bleeder, have other person pump clutch to get all air out of line. when bubbles stop i know air is out.
e) when bubbles stop, i will have person hold clutch down, close the bleeder then release clutch.

I was told not to let fluid in reservoir get below MIN line or new air in introduced. Do i need to keep reservoir cap on during bleeding? What if I need to add fluid? Does air only get sucked into reservoir if clutch is pumped?

Ok, 85 Chevy FullSize Blazer (Suburban) 6.2 Diesel 4x4

I have a Power Steering Assisted Brake system

At low speeds, if I press the brakes, its like they lock up at the press of the pedal. If I'm easy on the pedal and very light, i can usually stop without it just slamming down and almost locking up. When going fast, its fine, just a little different then normal pedal pressure, but at low speeds, if i try to press the brakes its bad, you can feel it kick like it was just slamed and is about locked up. I have bled the brakes 3 times, theres no air in the lines, I'm kinda lost and need some advice.

There is a big problem with people not giving enough information about the vehicle in question, the problems specifics and recent past repairs or problems. I have made a suggestion to the Answers team asking for a form to be filled out with this info when the question is asked. If all who agree with this suggestion will go to the message board and vote on "Vehicle information form", maybe they will adapt the suggestion. Go to "Related Links" on the left. Click on "Whats going on it Answers" then "Message Board" and find and vote for "Vehicle information form".

It's definitely a metal sound, perhaps it could be bearings being tossed around, but I'm not sure. I only hear it when I put my car in drive, if I put it in park or neutral I don't hear the sound anymore. Anyone have a clue here?
