If the intake manifold is leaking, it could cost $1000.00 for repairs.
Get a second opinion.
Have it pressure tested to determine exactly where it's leaking from.

it might just be your waterneck and if tht is so it is very simple .so as the intake not that big of a job but will cost more to fix its sounds like only gaskets the 1st one takes about 10 mins to fix and five dollars but the second one is gonna take an half aday and about $ 125.00

Under the intake manifold. buy a Chilton manual and do it yourself. Whatever a mechanic charges is too much,

sounds more like the lower in take gasket as it is leaking water. upper would be vacuum leak.
depending on your area I'd estimate $650.00 on up.(parts & labor)
