In a word, "YES".
The computer controls the fans via a relay. If the temp sensor for the computer is defective, the fans could be intermittent or inop. But the dash gauge should still be reasonably accurate. If you are experiencing issues with all, inspect and correct all of the electrical connections, ESPECIALLY the ground connections.

Yep. That sensor is what turns the fans on and works the gauges.

yes onli if the bad temp sensor detects low engine temp but if it senses high engine temp even if its low it will run da radiator fun hard.

Not positive, but it seems like it should do one or the other, not both.
