You can 'search' safety recalls at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website -Office of Defect Investigation (-odi)
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/recallsearch.cfm

The site is not the easiest to navigate. You will need to enter the : year, make, model, etc
Remember this site only lists SAFETY related items, but you can also search SAFETY: TSB's, investigations, & complaints (made by consumers, like yourself)

If you have trouble navigating there, you can e-mail me with the pertinent info & I'll try it for you....I search the site regularily.

step one- This is the FORD forum, the chevrolet forum would be better for you and your question (as it's a chevy)

Chevrolet has been having issues on lower intakes leaking, but usually it's from coolant leaks I've heard more than air leaks.

Best to talk to the Chevrolet dealer for more info.
