On my 99, I looked on the bottom of the doors and rust in forming there. One side of the car already is starting to bubble on the outside of the paint, right on the corner of the door where it meets the back part of the car. After it rains, it seems like water is always trapped in the doors because if I roll up and down the window the next day, the window is wet. Are these bad gaskets for the doors/windows, causing water to be trapped, or is there drain holes at the bottom of the door that could be clogged? Any help is appreciated, I need this FIXED. I've looked at a few other same gen Celicas at school and I've seen a couple others with rust in the same spot as mine.

Clean out the drain holes in the bottom of the door and get a product called POR-15 online or some hardware stores carry it. It's a rust-converter type of paint that will stop the rust process as long as you coat the entire rusted area so no air can get to it..then use touch-up paint on any areas that are visible on the outside.Try to clean the rusted areas down to bare metal first and follow the directions with the product.
Good luck, Paul

i own a repair shop, and whats happening to it is the drain holes in it are getting stopped up and the water isn't draining out of the doors like it should, you,ll have to remove the door panels and clean it all out, once it starts rusting though its real hard to stop it,and the rust on the sides of it means its rusting from the inside to the out side, and it impossible to stop it ,you can fix it once its cleaned out and it will last a while, but rust is a hard thing to get rid of,good luck with it hope this helps.

Yes, there are drain holes that plug up. Also, if you live in the northern states, I wish you lots of luck trying to get a Toyota not to rust! Good Luck

there are drain holes on the bottom of the doors . Try to clean them out if you cant drill some small holes yourself and let the water drain out
