Last week my wife under instruction (as she is on a provisonal licence) scuffed a bumper of a parked car when practicing a manouver. We waited until the driver came back and showed her the 2 small 4-5 inch scratces on her bumper. The occupents of the car did not notice as it was so slow! We have received a letter from her Insurance company. Our insurance policy has a massive excess due to a) her licence and b) a voulentry XS to reduce the premiums. Therefore £500 xs... plus we will loose 2 years no claims etc etc. These scratches could cost us loads of dosh!

Therefore, can i contact her insurance and them to repair the damage and send me the bill direct, as it will work out cheaper this way. I have already told my insurance company, but i want to avoid using them to pay the bill..

The other day someone broke into a family members car while we were eating at a restaurant. My purse, with my cell phone, and a $700 ring were in it(I had come from work and put the ring in my bag because I work with kids and the ring would get so dirty, I forgot to put it back on). The purse was hidden underneath the seat so its not like I was asking for this. Basically, with the insurance the family member has, she has to pay a $1000 deductible first-which she made clear since it wasnt her stuff (they took a few non-expensive things from her) she was not going to pay it, therefore I was screwed over. She said my only hope would be to get my bf to contact the credit card company of the card he used to buy my ring. What is that supposed to mean? If the credit card company would reinburse it wouldnt everyone do that, like make up stuff? Please try and help me understand this...I am so hurt over the loss of this ring :(

I went and had it looked at..I felt like it was my transmission because it would buck when it got to 40mph..I ran into a transmission mechanic who put tranmission fluid and lucas in the car because the fluid was low....It all ran out.He looked under the car and noticed I had a hole in my back tail housing located on or by my transmission. He told me I don't need a whole tranmission just should get that part repaired.. The questions are?
Is that true? Do they have to pull my transmission down or anything and how long will it take to fix it.. Thanks for any suggestions...

I have used brake cleaner,acetone and a hot gun to remove the metal bracket that holds the rear view mirror.
Nothing works.
Any more suggestions ?

I want a performance exhaust, but Banks stingers aren't being made any more that I know of, and seem hard to get your hands on one. I don't want to know about turbos, just exhaust systems, or intakes. Also are ther any companies that make headers for these engines?

Panel lites will not come on, I checked the fuse and it was not broken. Warning lites will come on, but the cigarett lite and the speed, gasoline level, heat, etc. will not come on. Normally when I turn on the ignition the panel lites and head lites would come on automatically. Now, if I manually turn on the head lites, the fasten your seat belt, and warning defects lites will come on, but nothing else.

we have replaced fuel pump assembly and gas tank external fuel pump oil pressure switch and still wont start will turn over and if youput fuel in the injectors it starts and stop immediaty the relay switch is set properly any suggestions thanks

My boyfriend just bought a new car, and says it's too quiet, and he wants to put an exhaust system on it. He's all about POWER and knowing that his car is faster than another guys car, when the other guys car is pretty fast. What's the big deal with the noise and the power? Is it a guy thing? I just...don't understand and it gets really annoying! (I keep that to myself though)

I drive it for about 15-30 mins and works fine but after that it starts stalling when I stop or go really slow. It has about 147,000 miles. It is a 1987 Chevy Celebrity with a V6. Any help would be much aprecaited.
