If the engine from both cars is the same it should.
You didn't mention if they were manual or automatic.

I worked at the plant where that car was built and as far as I know they are the same.
Best to check with any reputable salvage yard for compatibility in case there was some minor change I was unaware of like increasing the size of axles.

That would prevent you from tearing it down only to find there is some slight difference that needs extra parts.

You will need to loosen the struts so you can push the wheel hubs out away from the axle and only then can you remove the trans.

The axles are held in by a snap ring and you will need a tool like a big fork to pop them out. Your might be able to do it with two crow bars pushed at the same time.

Suggest you go to library and copy sheet from automotive book to be certain you don't miss anything.
