Please take it to someone qualified to do this very technical job! Way too many small pieces of plastic and springs that have to be aligned for the average mechineck to keep together. If u screw it up no turn signals, or flashers, or possible cruise; then what u gonna do?

the ignition switch is on top of the steering column, under the dash, you must drop the column. If you need to replace the key cylinder you will need to remove the steering wheel and lock plate, which require special tools, then the turn signal switch. You can then remove the bolt that holds the cylinder in place.

The ignition stuff is down on the under side of your steering column. The cylinder, you put the key in the accessories position and then insert a paper clip into the hole on it.

You have to pull the steering wheel and then GENTLY remove the other components until you get to the ignition switch.
GO get a CHILTON's at the parts store and then you will have step by step instructions!

Before i answer your question, are you talking about the ignition switch or the lock cylinder.
