It was on the driver's side near the exhaust pipe. It looks like a cover or something because it's contoured. I know nothing about cars and don't know if this should be put back on. Please help!

I haven't installed a radio for at least 20 years. Is it better to let the pros do it nowadays or is it still possible for a klutzy do-it-yourselfer?

I remember someone made a system that could jump-start your car through the cigarrette lighter/power outlet inside your car. Do they still make those? Do they work?

It has a good amount of rust, and I don't want to have a bad bondo job done on it. We're talking underside, wheel wells, roof, etc. Would it be a better value to purchase a body that's in better shape to paint? The ultimate goal is to have a beautifully restored Nova. I already have the kick under the hood, hehe.

I have a 1997 Ford Taurus GL. It's mileage is around 149,600. I had to have someone tighten something in the transmission like 2 1/2 to 3 years ago. It was used when I got it. It is now making a rattling sound, that could be the fan or something else in the transmission. It sometimes shifts hard. But my main question is: How much longer should I bother fixing it up? I don't want to spend money on fixing the transmission if the transmission won't last much longer. What is the longest and safest mileage I should go on that car before I should start looking for another one. I keep up my oil changes, but I haven't had my car looked at since the last time someone fixed the transmission. This may sound bad also, but one of the windows doesn't want to go down, the dash is coming unglued, and the inside part of the door is coming loose. The passenger door window isn't sealed all the way, so it sounds like you're going to fly out when I drive. Thanks!

Im a single mom living on very budgeted income, bad credit and my engine block on my car has a crack in it. I dont have any other form of transportation and money is tight. I know that the hole is practically unfixable unless I had about 10,000 to fix it, but is there any option to getting a new vehicle fast? Its hard for me to find rides and I work in stuart and live in PSL, plus having to drop off and pick up my son Mon thru Fri in mid PSL. Of course not to mention running regular errands and getting to the bank. What can I do?

I recently went and looked at a new car, test drove it and got a quote and everything. The next day we haggled with them and got them down to a price which was comfortable for both parties. Now we are just waiting on the loan from the bank, and i told the dealership that we'd get back with them in a couple of days after getting the loan and then buy. Ive never bought a car before so im scared that they may sell it within those few days of us getting the loan. Would they do that?

I have corrosion on my battery - a bunch of white powder forming around one of the terminals. I've heard I can use coke to clean it then a mix of vaseline and bicarb to fix the problem. How do I do this? Do I have to unhook the terminal first? Or just pour the coke on then add vaseline and bicarb? how much?
