-- bar that the hood rests on. I took apart the front end, bumper is okay, reebar is good was wondering if pulling the cross bar was something that can be done at home w/ simple tools? I have jacks and hammers. thanks.

you can do this at home with a come-a-long crank. if you have a high lift jack a way can be found to use that as well. or, another way would be to chain it to something solid, start the car, put it in reverse and have a friend tell you when to stop.

if you mean where the hood lock ? use a rope and a tree at one end the other end where is bend .But you might just replace it just unbolt or drill out the spot weld. go to a bone yard and get a use one.

sure you are able to pull the radiator rail ("pass bar) up yet i could advise you bypass to a junk backyard the place you're able to drag it your self and get the two the hood and rail for under $60 greenbacks. that is yet another shade yet your hood would be greater take care of.
