They sound great until you get the volume about half way up, then they kick the protection on the amp....do I need a partion in the box? What am I missing here?? They are wired the same exact way the JL's were wired and they slammed!! Whats wrong??

Check your impedences.

the box has nothin to do with the impedence level but if you wired the infinty's the same way and they were dual 2ohm voice coils and the jl's where dual 4ohms your probably running the ohms too low for the amp

I would check the impedance of the woofers, and also take a once over on the amp to make sure you didn't disturb anything while you did the switch.

they are probabley too powerful for the amp. once they really start needing power, the amp just cant provide it, and shuts off. thats my guess, you might want to put what amp, and what JLs you took out of the box.

They must have a lower ohm rating than the jl's....
