I have a '74 Dart 318. It's got the 7 1/4" rear with 2.76 gears. I break the rear U-joint that bolts to the differential yoke every week. It's only the 2 bearing cups of the rear joint that bolt to the yoke that break. The 2 cups you hammer into the driveshaft don't break, even after the car is shaking etc. and the front U-joint that connects the driveshaft to the transmission yoke is still the original I believe. It's never broken. The car's got a hopped up 318 and i run it hard. I'm wondering if it's the yoke, or if the differential housing angles up when i hit the gas causing severe pinion angles. Help please!!

I have a 95 mitsubishi eclipse gs-t, and after driving about town for 20min or so, the engine rev's up to 2000 to 2500 (without driver influence) and the only way to stop it is to turn off the car, and leave it for 4 hrs or so. My mechanic said he could not find anything, is there anything I can do or look for to fix this? Or just go to another mechanic?

It happens with or without the A/C on. The car is a 1994 Buick Century Custom (V-6) with 66,000 original miles on it. Would this indicate a need for new thermostat? Recently, the radiator was inspected and functioning well. I already added extra Prestone coolant/ anti-freeze 50/50. Thanks for any help before I take it to the garage and spend MORE money. I recently replaced the fuel pump and filter, new brakes and heater coil.

my engine overheated recently after some debris from the road jammed in the cooling fan. the engine (3 litre V6 Nissan) has now been stripped revealing some rings have siezed up causing very faint scratches to some but not all of the bores. Obviously I dont want to do more damage but can I polish out the scratches with a cloth and some smooth grinding paste or is there a resonably priced honing tool available for the diy enthusiast?

In spite of all the techological advancements made by human beings, why is that we still have to depend on gas/petrol or diesel to run our cars?Has no body invented a car that runs on water (H2O) instead of gas? If we have cars that run on water, then we don't have to worry about d soaring price of gas and petro products.

Before the movie fast and the furious came out, these buzzing, christmas light, NOS equipped little annoying cars (usually some import) were found in small numbers. I hate these stupid cars, it makes driving anywhere a pain since these idiots think that they are in the third fast and furious flick. I noticed that these "euro" styling is not only on imports, but also on mustangs, camaros, and the most painful of all firebirds. What happened to the muscle car of yesteryear? Remember seeing a Mustang pull up next to you and as you glanced over you swore you were in some drag race starting line after seeing that 'stangs engine boasting a supercharger and half the engine sticking out the top of the hood. I used to love to hear these cars ROAR down the road...now I see Mustangs and other muscle car types being downgraded to euro crap and when they drive off, a loud farting sound is what they make. Why don't we bring back muscle cars and lose the euro trash? (no offense to europeans)
