You can't have your car registered in both states. Only one or the other. You need to have your license in the state you have your vehicle registered. Where you have your license and vehicle registered is where you need insurance.

You can't get two different licenses, from two different states.

Good Luck!

It should be the state in which you claim residency. Knowing those two states, however, they could both end up claiming you if you don't keep records on which days you're in which state!

As far as getting a license for each state (illegally), simply go to MA DMV and tell them you don't have a license from another jurisdiction. And make sure you also do not give them any identifying information (e.g., SSN) that they could use to connect you to your CA D/L.

Nope its against the law to have two states DL. However, if you get one in MA it will cancel your CA. I work for the DMV.

You can try and get a state id and keep your CA lic. That way you wont have to get rid of the CA licenses.

Check with the DMV of both states and be sure of there rules and requirements. Some states well actually most states are different.

No, you can't have a license in more than one state at a time. You have to declare ONE as your residence state, and find a company that will write both car insurance policies (they are on different forms) for you, while you only have one license. You're best off looking in MA for that, as there are only a few carriers that write car insurance there.

Pick a state for your permanent residence and get your license there. You are not allowed to have More than 1 drivers license at once.

I have a friend that moved to Arizona and had a driver's license and then moved back here and got another one for her new address, so now she has two. I think that's the only way.
