This client is about 20% of our business. We have been working with him for about 6 months. We have never met but are somewhat friendly on the phone.
Can anyone recommend a small get well gift to send him?
Thanks.

I am interested in starting my own Consulting company.

I would like to start an at home consulting firm, being a non-biased mediator for companies.

For example, I know there are consultants out there that companies have that are free. But more often than not they do the same cookie cutter type problem solving.

I would like to come in with my knowledge of working in different companies ( I’ve been a contract worker for years with various companies and work environments) with different people, and recommend a more human one on one approached between management and employee.

What I would like to know is how do I get started? How do I get my foot in the door?

Thanks in advance

My father-in-law owns a towing business. So they get to keep whatever is in the cars that people don't come back to pick up. Right now there is a huge garage full up just junk and it's in the way. I've organized it but there is so much stuff it's just over flowing..My mother-in-law refuses to throw stuff away...So, I had an idea of opening a 2nd hand store...There are tons of clothing, tools, sport equipment, toys, books, etc...I could sell...but I do not know what I would need to do to open a 2nd hand store to sell all this stuff!!!

Please give me a step-by-step account of how to start a business based in the state of Florida and can operate in all 67 counties. The business in question is a combined land clearing and leveling AND logging company. Also, I need all the advice on securing startup capital (and how to get business loans guaranteed by the SBA), how to get it as a certified woman-owned business, how to get government contracts, how to establish business credit, how to transform this startup into a thriving corporation, and whatever else is necessary.

Every practical lead and advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. :-)

I would need to know about products, distribution, promotion and price for your business. Who is your target market? What is your competitive advantage?
If you can help me with this please tell me you name and the name of your business. (If your not comfortable telling me your name that’s ok). You can either post your answer here or send me a message through Yahoo! Answers.

I started a website to raise environmental awareness. I want to start selling website related merchandise and donate a portion of the proceeds to charity. Should I start a small business and just donate the money on my own, or should I start a non-profit and donate through that? The plan is to travel around the country doing speaking engagements, promoting the website, as well as selling the products to keep the site going, to be able to afford the travel, etc. This will be my only source of income, if I start a nonprofit, would it be legal for me to donate my own money to it, and can I pay myself a salary so I can concentrate all my time on this project? I also want to hold a series of dinners to introduce friends and people from my community to the site. If I start as a business, is it legal for me to charge people to attend the dinner? The money would pay for the dinners, a portion would go to charity, and the remainder would pay for the travel, merchandise and expenses.

I'm a funeral planner and I'm wondering if more people knew of my services if they'd use them. I find most people have a hard time thinking, let alone planning for their funeral. I usually target older clients, but would younger people be interested in having someone do the legwork and put together a full design plan?

As the general manager, I have several VERY good sales people who are continuously late every single day, despite my best efforts they just appologize (sincerely) and say it won't happen again. Yet it does, and I dont want to lose them but I also cant have my business running wild like this. What is a good and fair way to curb the lateness??

There are very many distance education programs in the market, run by Universities and Private Companies alike. I would like to know if there is any thumb rule in the business of Distance education which would help a prospective entrepreneur understand the viability of this kind of a business model. In particular, I would like to know if there is an Industry average for 'earning::advertising expenditure'.

I am part of a volunteer search & rescue team & all of our forms that we use for reports, etc has been made using a regular PC & printer. However do to changes being made on who all needs copies of our reports, we need to be able to make 3 part carbon copy forms that way we can have the copies, without using a copy machine. Is there a way to make 3 part carbon copy forms myself using my computer, or would I have to go through a custom form printing shop?
