Small Business - July 2007

I'm thinking of buying a small business - perhaps a UK newsagents for around £10,000 - £15,000. I've seen some for sale and the adverts explain the average weekly profit, but I was wondering how much extra I would need (or would be advisable) to save to get the business running smoothly in the early stages.

All throughout, we really had no problem with our right-hand katiwala. Until recently, she brought in a buyer for mongo grains for a significant amount. The deal was closed....and the "mongo' grains was delivered to the buyer. Per our 'katiwala", the buyer will pay us in a monthly installment basis for a year. First few months, there were remittances through our "katiwala". Everytime we asked her to go with her in collecting the installments, she would usually refuse. For the past 4 months, no remittance was handed to us. When we went directly to the buyer (without the knowledge of our katiwala), it was then we learnd that d transaction was paid by the buyer in cash thru our katiwala. Wen askd to give to us all the money paid to her, our katiwala faild to give us any amount. My concern is whether a case of estafa will stand considering that all the transactions were made orally. How shall prove it in terms of evidentiary matters.

I recently leased a building and am going to open a bar ( this building has been a bar before ) , however i had to have the lease to apply for the liquor license. Whats something i could do in the meantime with the building to make money ( it takes 2-6 months to get the liquor license ). Oh btw its in Ellis County, Texas, USA. Hoping not to have to do a BYOB or having to give liquor/beer away by donation/cover charge (that may possibly piss TABC off)

I live in an apartment complex, so I have never really mowed a lawn before.

Where should I go to learn how if someone ( a friend) asked you to show them how to mow a lawn would you say okay?

How much are lawnmowers?

Since I am broke now I would have to save up to get enough money to buy a lawn mower....is it like 200 or 300 for a good one?

Will the manual tell me how to keep it running and stuff?

Basicaly, do you have anytips for someone wanting to make some money.

Okay so obviously in tx yu have to be 16 and up to work anywhere and im not quite there yet.so i cant walkdogs cause i hate the sun,i cant do anything involving animals at my house cause i have way to many.i cant babysit,,i have no idea why.i already cut grass but its been raining for quite a while.and so ive been selling my old stuff over the internet.but i kno that sooner or later i will run out of things to sell cause id probably get rid of all my junk and i want to make things myself.but i dont kno wat to make.all i can do is write poetry and draw but im sure no other teengers want to buy my poems and drawings.and besides i want my poetry to be known that i wrote it and the person who buys it might say they wrote it.so its a no go.same go for my drawings.and i dont really kno wat to make.wat appropriate stuff would yu recommend me to make.other than totebags,bows,plastic jewelry.
