what clothes are meant to be worn when your boss tells you to wear "business casual" outfits?

This will probably differ from one office to another. Technically what it means is that you don't have to wear suits and fancy dresses with the heels and everything to match. Some offices have a rule for length of skirts, coverage of tops etc. no runners is a definite. some people allow open toed sandals with no hose for women but others don't. cropped pants are allowed at some offices but not at others. if you are starting a new job the best thing to do is err on the side of caution until you see what other people are wearing. thats what i did.

You don't have to wear suit, but no jeans and no beach close, or maybe you can wear jeans with jacket. Good Luck!
