I sell through a secure website that only has users 18 or over and would only dispatch to the customers name and address that is registered.
I am in the UK so does this state thing count towards me as I only ship in UK?
I do not store, dispatch or even see the goods so unsure on a personal license side of things

As I am an online individual, not a company and the VAT and duty will be dealt with by the dispatching warehouse, I don't think there is a problem.
At the moment waiting for replies from a licensing officer

In the UK, both Customs & Excise and the VAT people will, no doubt, be taking a keen interest in your business model ...

For actual people who will store and despatch goods and collect money - you will become a customer so technically you should not need a licence to sell or store or transport alcohol. You will become a ordering/booking agency like travel agents who book flight tickets. Travel agent does not need aviation license to book on behalf of customers. If you play your reasons well, you may have a winner here.
If you do, remember who told you so.

you'll need a license in each state that you want to sell the alcohol in actually. That is why some online distributers of alcohol have disclaimers on their web page stating that they do not sell alcohol in certain states. You will also need to come up with an agreement with whomever you select as the delivering company, to require an ID/Driver's License showing that they are 21 (or whatever the legal age for consuming alcohol is in the specific state).

Good luck with your endeavor!!!

If you are in the UK you do not need a license but the premises that the alcohol is shipped from does. You also have to have strict controls in place to ensure that the alcohol is not delivered to minors. Sorry, can't help if you are in the US but I would imagine it is very similar.
