I'm trying to track down some family members-the last places of residency were Denver, CO and San Diego, CA. I know they owned their homes, I would like to search by name. I lost all addresses that were given to me.

we put an offer on a condo - it was 10k less than original price- the seller's counter offered. we met their request - $6k higher but still under original listing price. our agent was about to write up contract when a third party came in with ANOTHER offer (but we have no way of knowing if it is higher than ours or not) we at that point were told to offer our strongest and best offer by noon the next day- the seller would decide then. we upped our offer to the original listing price of the condo. it is past noon and now we are being told that we won't know until tonight if our offer is accepted. is this all normal for buying a place? we feel like if the seller's counter offered and we accepted, why are we still playing this game?

Me and my husband are looking to buy a brand new home, asking 182,000 for it...now this is not our dream home..our dream home is worth about 192,000..still not a bad deal...but... with a bank financing it we would pay about 1250.00 a month...now we live in alabama and we make a good amount but maybe not enough to afford that and afford bills and our new baby daughter...is there a company that will finance for a less payment a month? if you know please leave a phone number or website or something you know i can get in contact with them ??...

Ok, let's say I fill out an application to rent a place and I don't get a call from the landlord for 2 bussiness days, should I assume I wasn't chosen to take the place?, if so, does the landlord have to let me know I am not gonna get the place or is it assumed I will call to find out what's up?.

My husband and I own our 3bd, 2bth ranch home. It is old and needs a lot of costly repairs. We are tired of the maintence and upkeep therefore we are considering buying a townhouse. We have a two year old son. I like the townhomes in the area. However I think I would like a yard for my son to play in when the weather gets warmer. Also it seems like we will be taking a take backwards? Then again no yard or exterior maintence is tempting. Any suggestions.

I need to know what the laws are in Wisconsin for the replacement of carpets in an apartment. I have heard that after so many years the landlords will have to replace the carpets. If someone knows the answer to this and maybe a link to a document on this that would be great. Thanks.

I have had maintenance out several times and each time they make it work but then it breaks down a few days later. Last night I came home at 1am and there was not heat (it was -16 degrees outside). I called and the on call maintenance man who has been helping us said that the property manager told him he was off the case and could not work on the problem. She also said that we should turn our electric over on and the problem would be addressed the next day. He came over and fixed it for the night for us but we decided to withold February Rent until the problem is fixed. The property manager called today and told me that I had to pay rent no matter what and besides the heat was currently working. I have contacted her boss and am waiting to hear back but what are my options. They just keep changing the thermostat but have not had a professional come look at the furnace. I need heat and the property manager is being exceedingly difficult. Any advice?

I have a full time job with the government, a second job as a waitress, and I attend night school. Even with my two jobs I barely make over $1000 a month. I am single, and live alone. I live in the cheapest apartment I can, which in my area is $700 a month, without electricity. How on Earth can I do this? Are there any government programs available out there to help people like me?

I am moving into a family member’s house with intentions of purchasing the property. At first we were going to do a land contract, now my family member has came up with the idea of doing a quit claim deed to transfer ownership to me giving me the chance to finance the house in my name and them pay off her mortgage, just the same as if I purchased it out right, but giving me a better chance of getting financed because it will look like I already own the property. Is this a good idea and would this actually work?

I'm thinking of moving out of So. California and I want to move somewhere where it is much less expensive, I can have horses, and still have a good job. I'm really an office person by profession. I have driven through many states but is seems like the most smaller towns wouldn't have work for me. What to people do for a living in smaller towns if they are not farmers or in the tourist industry?
