My mother would like to sell my brother her house for one dollar. She is moving overseas and wants to help him out. Is this customary? Someone in her office told her she can do this but that there may be certain processes they will have to follow b/c of the unusual nature of the sale. Is that true? They live in Ft Lauderdale.

We only have 3 months left here on the lease but we are trying to move asap because they do not do what they said they were going to do. They said that they would exterminate atleast 1 a month and we've been here 9 months and only have had one. We already found another place and paid the deposit but were still stuck here. They said we would have to pay $1,900.00 to move out early or just say the 3 months and it would be cheaper($1,200.00). We can't find a subleaser so what can we do to get out of this lease?

It seems to me that the ultimate goal would be to become a broker, yet I have encountered countless realtors who have been in the business for many years yet don't strive to become one. Why is that?

My husband is managing this property since 5 years, and having experience of management for 15 years. He is not only managing it but having all responsibilities, the owners are there only on first of the month to get the account and profit. He is also a partner of 2.5%. He is paying the tax and loan from the bussiness too. If we don't have enough money for downpayment are their any chance or way to buy this bussiness. Is there any loan available for the person who is experienced but not money. How can we buy this bussiness, we are having excellent credit.

I filed bancruptcy and had it discharged about 2 years ago. What can I do to keep this from letting me get a house or trailer. My wife and I just tried to get a trailer and they said we had to put 30% down. My credit is not the best but it's not as bad as it could be.

I am in the process of buying a house and have today discovered that someone was brutally murdered there just over 2 and a half years ago.
The case was in the national news and there is a new local campaign surrounding the case which is going to make a lot more people aware of it (hence how I've only just found out).

I'm not personally worried about living in the house but I'm concerned about it's resale potential.
Would something like this totally put you off buying a house or more inclined to want to buy it?
Do you think it would decrease the value of the house or increase it because of the history?

Your opinions are appreciated!

I have a deed in trust dispute with an ex. The deed was written up but never recorded(it not being recorded is not an issue where I live. Maryland). The dispute is involving owenership. He is contesting ownership, I say we are co-owners. The lawyer who drafted the deed did not change the deed date at the top of the first page of the deed, so it reads; this deed made this day march 3, 2004 instead of may 9, 2005; will this hurt my case/chances? The rest of the dates (signatures...etc...is correct)

A friend of mine rents a flat from a hsng assn (part of a house). A new tenant moved in and is a suspected drug dealer. She often comes home to find "hoodies" on her doortstep. She is disturbed by people ringing her buzzer at all hours. There have been several disturbances involving this tenant, people trying to kick down the communal front door and his flat front door, litter and human waste in the communal hallway, etc.

The man disappeared for a few weeks, and people tried to break into his flat. When the police came, drugs were found in the man's back garden.

My friend (and other tenants) have made several complaints to the housing assn but nothing has been done. After this they were told that this man would be served with an eviction notice.

However, she got a phone call from the housing assn today telling her that the man was not served the eviction notice and would be moving back in. Can the hsng assn do this? What, if any, are her rights?

I've searched rent.com and apts.com and they don't offer much. I already got apt guide books and searched the local papers too. I was just wondering if there was a really good site out there that i'm missing.
